t3hZm4n Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Since marching season is more or less tied to the school football team (even though we go way beyond it with all of our contests: UIL, BoA, etc.), it's only fair that they get a topic here, especially since there's a band topic on the HS football board I go to. Anyway, I'm just curious how everyone's teams are doing. Westwood is currently 8-1, and sealed a spot in the playoffs. Quote
trumpetman1288 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Our football team is...um...not too great this year. They are currently 2-7 and 0-5 in district. This will be the first time in 6 years that they do not make playoffs. Quite a shame too because they were AWESOME my freshman year...district, bi-district, and area champs and a regional finalist in our last year in 4A. Now they are in the sewer of the district. Quote
MartinHorn Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 If we win our next game Martin advances to playoffs, which would a good thing for our brand new head football coach. Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 "When you win 59 consecutive regular-season games, they can't all come easy. Friday at Galena Park ISD Stadium, nothing came easy for the North Shore Mustangs as Pasadena Memorial fought the area power hard for three quarters before things broke North Shore's way en route to a 20-3 victory. The Mustangs (9-0, 6-0 District 22-5A) clinched their fifth consecutive outright district title with the win. Pasadena Memorial (6-3, 4-2) held the Mustangs to three first-half points, the fewest anyone has held North Shore to in the first half this season. A determined Mustangs offense opened the second half with a 12-play, 59-yard drive ending in a 32-yard Miguel Prudencio field goal to give North Shore a 6-3 lead. The Mavericks swung back with an eight-play drive that set up a first-and-goal at the North Shore 3. Sophomore running back Bo Snelson fumbled the ball into the end zone on the next play for a North Shore touchback. Four plays later, Mustangs quarterback Vance Fizer (nine carries, 105 yards) sprinted 46 yards for a score giving North Shore a 13-3 lead. "When the defense got that turnover I was enamored," Fizer said. "It was really important and I'm glad they were able to make plays." The momentum the Mavericks built on that drive was lost with the fumble and they turned the ball over on the next two drives. Pasadena Memorial's four turnovers translated into 14 North Shore points. Fizer added a 26-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Tolbert to close out the scoring." we lost the game 20-3... BTW, North Shore was ranked #11 in Texas, but because we did what we did, they dropped to 13...haha Quote
Salesmonkey Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Quote BTW, North Shore was ranked #11 in Texas, but because we did what we did, they dropped to 13...haha That depends on where you look. According to 5A Texas Football.com they were 4th and are now ranked 7th. Leander is ranked 13th in state, is 6-0 in district and have the biggest game of the year friday. Leander vs Cedar Park "The Battle at Bagdad" hopefully we wont play our 2nd and 3rd string and lose like we did last year... Oh yeah and its also both our 8th grade nights. Quote
whitewing09 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 we're like 9-0 maybe? hopefully this next friday will be 10-0 irdc well i do but either way we're in play offs to bad our band didnt do so well this year... we kinda wanted to go to state for band and football but i guess that aint happenin Quote

I hate to be against y'all, but I'm pulling for Cedar Park to win that one so Westwood can get a share of the district title... best of luck to y'all though Quote
Salesmonkey Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Its cool. I hope its a good close game and I wish Westwood the best of luck in playoffs. Who knows, we may meet you again there. Quote
Mr.k08 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 We're 2-6. Funny thing is, one of the games, the school played an Ineligible player, so we got the win(even though we still lost). And the other game, we beat the district champs from last year! crazy! Quote
bandnerdbea Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Yeah our football team is not doing too good.... 3 & 6 overall with 2 & 3 in district play.....but our sister school, spring high south (a.k.a. westfield) is doing awesome!!!! Currently an undefeated record!!!! I hope I can go to their playoff games since we wont be in the playoffs.... so yeah thats our football team.... Luv Bea Quote
sax5warrior Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 8-1 =D 5-1 in District play We are going to face Arlington Bowie in Division I Bi-District no matter the outcomes in Week 11 Quote
TRtrumpet Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 We lost 3 outta 10. Were not goin to playoffs. We didn't even win a game last year so this year was alot better. Quote
Nancy08 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 The only games Leander lost were Bryan and A&M Consolidated. Both highly ranked teams, and both not district. Even with those two losses we're 13th in state...and we've sealed a spot in the playoffs, so marching season continues wonderful... Quote
hhsquadguy Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Wow we're like 2-7 or something like that. Quote
thesnareguy Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 We're going all the way to state... Quote
cinco_4_life811 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Well Cinco seems to have on and off years. In 2004 the team was great, last year we were horrible, and this year we are much better (8-1 overall, 5-1 in district). The biggest dissapointment this year is when we played our rival, Katy. Alas, this important matchup was on the same day as the Area E contest, so the band wasn't able to be there. Cinco ended up losing 3-17 (although we were just happy it wasn't a complete blowout like previous years where we lost 56-7) Hopefully we will do well in playoffs Quote
Salesmonkey Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Leander - 28 Cedar Park - 7 Leander is the outright district champion! Quote
chickora Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 ^.^ We going to play offs now. Wo0t! Quote
whitewing09 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 we won the biggest game of the season!!! ya... unfortunately biggest for 3A lol owell i guess thats better then nothing Quote
hhsquadguy Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Yeah we played Lake Travis tonight. We got beat 45-25....which is very surprising because I was expecting a 60-0 loss or something like that. OUr quarterback hurt his neck, though. Our guys did well. They were laying some pretty good hits. Quote
t3hZm4n Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 ; We finish the season 8-2, we lost to Stony Point in our last game 14-10... I don't know where the heck our offense was last night Quote

I cant get over how cool y'alls fight song is. lol OFF SUBJECT: Well, I believe we are doing band stock this year, we should mate.. I mean meet. Quote
