Congratulations Marcus!! By far the cleanest music I heard at BOA. Very deserving of first place at UIL. Now LD Bell can let loose at Grand Nationals.

i was totally pullin' for Bell... mayun... GN is gonna be a Texas battle with a little bit of Indy spice... we'll see this weekend... but on that note i did see Marcus' show multiple times cuz... well cuz they used our (Judson's) field to rehearse... lmao! anyways they have an AMAZING brass section along with the rest of the band... congrats guys... and good luck to Bell at GN

Bell has medaled at State, and is primed to hit the top 3 at GN. Akins makes what might be called the Cinderella Story of marching band, all the way to State finals. And only a few years ago, Marcus wouldn't have been picked to be in finals. Now they take home the gold medal. Absolutely amazing.

also, terrace dynamics - the more people playing at mf, the louder its gonna be and the more musical you can play - making the louds louder makes the softs easier and softer

Langham does not march the top two bands only... i corrected you.. your wrong... everyone earns their spot if you cant pass you music and spot off then you dont march.. we dont hide people

lmao, i find it funny that reagan and churchill are sister schools cuz they are inner district rivals and they constantly battle to beat each other in friendly competition but end up breaking even... good job you 2! and good job to Marcus, Bell, and Duncanville... did i mention marcus used our field to rehearse on...?

when there is a tie it comes down to "judges' preference" Thus, the ranking that each judge gave each band involved in the tie is used to determine which band each judge "preferred". from the UIL website http://www.uil.utexas.edu/music/scoring_procedure.html

Through judges' preference, Churchill scored higher than Duncanville in three judges' eyes, thus giving them the 3rd place spot. UIL owes Churchill an apology and a bronze medal.

Boy you are sharp...I had to go through those 3 scores like ten times to see that. Nice catch! Makes me wonder if UIL even knows about that yet.

 

edit: That INCONSISTENT 8 and 10 threw me off from the first judge. I guess it isn't just the judges but the officials as well...
