And sure, diminish Avon's feelings because Westfield dropped between different competitions. For you to say that they shouldn't feel bad because "other bands have had it worse" is pretty insulting.

 

You are right about one thing, though. Suck it up and go on.

look...im not about to sit here and go back and forth with someone who seems to always want to pick fights over comments I make...Avon is a well-respected band and shouldn't feel bad about placing what they did in finals...that's ALL im trying to say and that they shouldn't have to worry about making 7th because that just means that they are the 7th best band in the nation right now...you can try to twist up what I'm saying all you want to but the fact of the matter is...it's just fine because other bands who have expected to do good haven't...and it's clearly better to go from 2nd to 7th than from 2nd to 12th...

Indeed, I agree Avon is a well-respected band, as well as Westfield. You don't get to the top without having your own share of disappointments, however. To say that Westfield's disappointment this year is greater than Avon's doesn't do justice to Avon. Both bands are at the top of their class. They should be proud of whatever place they get. I must admit, I was pretty surprised when Westfield got announced 12th at Super Regionals.

maybe in your school district. our director said bell can die and go to heaven as many times as it takes to win GN.

In my opinion Connally did very well also.

Being the first 4A Texas band to go to GN isn't

to shabby!......

I agree. Bell of course represented very very well...Im proud of everyone . Hopefully next year a texas band can bring the Eagle home to the lone star state where it belongs!!!!

everyone first of all seems a little bitter and needs to quit with the insults, we all tried our hardest and we should all be proud of our marching seasons. second, congrats to all the bands who went to grand nats, especially l.d. bell becuase i heard that their finals show was completely different than every other show they performed, like something with a white tarp which is pretty darn cool in my opinion. LASTLY CONGRATS TO ALL MY SENIOR HOMIES!! finally...its over...

not completely different

but yes, the end did involve a white tarp.

L.D. Bell's show...I got to see their Semis and Finals show, and really, I think they changed a lot of their third movement (if not all of the visual). But what they did in their Finals show - with the white tarp and all - that pretty much, I would say, was what got them so far in comparison to Semis. That GE was shocking and amazing and I could just hear the audience gasp at its effect. I definately liked it in comparison to their Semis show.
