Drummer Chick Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Just curious, If you could play any instrument in the pit, what would you play and why? Quote

fourmalleteer Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 If I were in Pit, I would play: 1. Kazoo 2. Triangle 3. Ratchet 4. Slapstick 5. Foghorn 6. Then, I guess...marimba 7. Timpani (seriously) Quote
shmily1130 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I still love vibraphone. The bassoon idea sounds nice, though. Oh yeah, and why? Vibraphone is pretty with pedal and four mallets, but then it also can be very harsh and provide nice clashes, I suppose you could say. Bassoon because it just rocks. Quote
fourmalleteer Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I think vibraphone is the most effective keyboard instrument in the pit. You have the most control over sustain, and as far as the clanking, maintenance and the right technique will eliminate that problem. Quote
Percussion Minority Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I am in pit for two years now. I would totally stick with the marimba. I for some reason can't play any runs very well on anything else but the marimba. It may not be the most important instrument or the most soloistic, but it's the one I play my best on. Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 My favorites were (and still are) marimba and vibes. Quote
