Xenon Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I was talking with some of the judges while I was at the airport on Sunday and Van Matthews (one of the On-Field judges for Semi's) told me about some interesting things that happened during Bell's show that people in the audience wouldn't notice. Apparently, during one of their more free-form moments, a short mello player with round glasses ran up to him, quivered with fear, barely vocalized "NnnoooOOooOOOoooooo", and ran off. Also, at times band members would becon for him, calling him over with their hands, and say "Hhheeellp Mmmeeee." Wow. Just. Wow. Quote

If I were a judge, I would freak out and run away lol j/k. Bell is simply amazing, they come up with some stuff people wouldnt think of. Quote

Mculbert07 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 While members were crawling on the field, we watched the field judge, just to see what he was going to do, and a band member actually reached out and grabbed his leg. We died laughing. Quote

Quote
TRtrumpet Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Gosh there show sounds really interesting. I want to see it badly now. Quote

synthgirl Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 yeah, that was some fun stuff. for BOA San Antonio, they had the pit die at the end of the show, but took that out because they said it took attention away from the dancer. but anyhoo, i made sure to wait for a judge to walk behind me, and i was like, "NO! ITS NOT TIME!" and died right in front of him. that was awesome Quote
Xenon Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 Speaking of the dancer. Nice solo dance Erica! Quote
SpeshulEddie Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 bell's show definately has been my favorite since i saw it the first time i've seen it 5 times so far... and i still wanna see it again XD it's quite entertaining. Quote
Mculbert07 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I didn't know we had so many Bell people on the forums! When I met some of you throughout the course of the competition, you guys were the nicest people I think I've ever met. Humble too. Quote
artishard Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 i love being able to get in the judges faces and stuff...and yeah, that was a girl out there. me. i really liked laying in the endzones while people standing there were staring at us, and mouthing the words "HELP ME" to them. by the way, i don't know why you'd think i look like a he....i'd be an extremely short guy with really long hair. Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Uhhh, when did you have a solo? Quote
Xenon Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Wasn't that her on the 50 at the end? Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 No no that was another french horn. A guy. She was the one that said NoooOOooOOooooo though. For me i think it was BOA san antonio or nats prelims i grabbed at a judges ankle. He freaked out. Also in part 3 as we go into the backfield block you may notice a guard soloist in the middle of it. In finals at nats as a judge was exiting the block she yelled "WAIT!" at him and he turned and looked. Basically any chance we got, we interacted with them or each other Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 wow sounds like a blast! so all of that seemingly random action was planned? or no? Quote

greencowboy Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 the white silk on the field with the howling sounds and the members standing up underneath was the highlite of my evening....LOVED IT! You could hear a pin drop in the RCA dome. It was if time stood still.... Quote
