dmcolby Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I just wanted to congratulate every Texas band that competed in GN. All of us are amazing. Conelly and Cyrprus Falls...congrats for making it as far as you did. Getting into semi-finals is no easy feat. Awsome job and I loved both of our shows. L.D Bell, Woodlands, Churchill, and my Bowie peeps....AAHH!!! We all made finals!! 1/3 of all the bands that made finals were from Texas! Way to represent! What an amazing accomplishment L.D Bell! 2nd place!! THats two years running that a Tx band has made it into the top 3! Yeah Bowie!! Our 1st time at GN and we make it to finals!! That also is no simple feat. To all Bowie undercalssmen...thank you so much for making this the perfect season for the senoirs. It's been everything we could have asked for!! Congrats to all the bands that made finals and to all who got the chance to compete in Indy!! _____________________ James Bowie Piccolo Austin, Tx 2006/07 "A Little Night Music" 2005/06 "Essays" 2004/05 "Mysteries of the 5th Sun" 2003/04 "Heavenly Bodies" Quote
MissClarinet Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I really did think it was amazing. Having to move it was hard not being a part of the wonderful ability of Texas bands, but watching all of them nonetheless was still amazing. It was really a treat being a part of it all. And I have to say to Bowie that, it was amazing how we ended up being the only band practically in Finals without having props or voice-overs in the show. I honestly love that it was just targetted towards the main point of a marching band and didn't have any of those other distractions on the field - though they definately were a way to boost GE. Still, CONGRATS to all of the Texas bands!!! It was awesome! Quote

Our goal was Semis, so we walked away happy. Congratulations on your 12th place finish. We showed the rest of the nation how Texas gets it done. Quote

Churchill didnt have any props or voice-overs either, and i do believe James Bowie has been to GN Finals before in a past year to the person who said it was their first year. Quote

Bowie has only attended BOA since 2000-2001, I believe, we haven't been in BOA as long as many other bands have. We've had a short history in BOA so far. Quote
BowieTBMongoose Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 yeah, this was definately our first time to grand nationals. finals first time, pretty good if you ask me Quote
Shiloh Phoenix Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 congrats bowie. you have a better Grand Nats average than Richland. lol. Quote
