GuitarJoe Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Taken from the TCU Band website: "TCU Band Weekend is designed to provide high school student musicians with an Honor Band clinic/concert experience in a beautiful university setting. Students can audition on their all-region etudes (or any other prepared material) so that it serves as a "dry-run audition" for the TMEA or ATSSB auditions. Participants also receive master class and all-state audition instruction from members of the TCU studio faculty. Finally, students get the opportunity to hear concerts by the TCU Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, and other fine student performance ensembles. The educational opportunities presented by this Honor Band experience includes the chance to work with other band directors, to play in a section where everyone is in the same "league" as themselves, the exposure to new literature that challenges the student's sight reading and performance skills, and the opportunity to meet new friends and have a lot of fun. Also, students will have a chance to audition for a scholarship to TCU." http://www.band.tcu.edu/bandweekend.htm Quote
