MartinHorn Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 From the Revolution's website: Tres Maestros Ginastera - Revueltas - Piazzolla Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps presents the showcasing of three renowned artists of the 1900's. The compositional brilliance of Argentinean composer Alberto Ginastera, the rhythmical genius of Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas, and the revolutionary works of Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla lay the foundation for the 2007 musical production. The basis for the production is visually inspired by one of the most famous Spanish painters of that same era. I wonder why the Bluecoats left the A out of Criminal in the picture. Quote

Danpod Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 That Bluecoats logo looks like something from a movie. I love it! Quote
NSUMusician Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 The A in the Bluecoats Show Logo looks just like the A from The Da Vinci Code. I'll try and find out if it is just sheer coincidence or if there is something behind it. I'm sure there is. I meant to say this about it too. The logo looks like the Law & Order thing! ha. Quote

NSUMusician Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I'm trying to find out info on the Bluecoats show and everything is very hush hush. Staff members don't even know what they are doing. Maybe someone out in the txbands.com world knows? Quote
Claritone Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Quote The Firebird by Igor Stravinksy Holy crap, Firebird + Phantoms Hornline = This show will win DCI Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Quote The Firebird by Igor Stravinksy Considering I love Firebird Suite in every shape and form, I wouldn't be surprised if, by the end of the summer, I add Phantom to my list of favorite corps. Quote

Sounds great! Ahhh d@mn, minimalism and neoclassicism/serialism/crazycoolism. Beautiful! The Blue coats sounds pretty cool too. I'm gonna have to check out SCV's music. There's an incredibly slim chance that the Cadets will be playing one of the two sets of music I sent them that I wrote, lol. Quote

Just something I read on the Bluecoats forums, and I suppose it's probably not dead on, but the show would mainly feature "Take The A Train" by Strayhorn and turned into a signature hit by Ellington, and they'd say "Take The A" for short, hence a taken A. However that doesn't really tie in with a criminal, though. Unless the criminal is an alphabet thief/subway train robber? Quote
AndrewPCarr Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 i think it was, indeed, a joke but i suppose we'll have to wait and see. Quote
