MisterNick Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Ya'll are leaving out a classic! 1994 Cadets Actually, that was the first time I saw a DCI performance, and I thought it was really cool, but my favorite from that year was Blue Devils' "My Spanish Heart" show. Hearing "Nightstreets" played like that, man! The thought of those runs just sends shivers down my spine! Other Favorites Cadets 01: Juxtaperformance. Showmanship. 'Nuff Said. Blue Devils 02: I don't think I've ever looked at "I got Rhythm" the same way since. Phantom '94: "Claire de Lune" and "North by Northwest" Quote

ftwdrummer Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Probably ought to update this list now that I've gotten more into DCI... Harmonic Journey has grown on me...despite the dreck of a visual program... Rhapsody still has a special spot in my heart as the show that made me love drum corps... Star '91 and Star '93 are both amazing... Spartacus '08 is nothing short of godly. And I love Bluecoats this year. So, that bring my overall tally to: Star of Indiana: 1991, 1993 Phantom Regiment: 2003, 2005, 2008 Blue Devils: 1986, 2001, 2003 Bluecoats: 2007, 2008 Carolina Crown: 2004, 2007, 2008 Santa Clara Vanguard: 1989, 1999 The Cadets (all names): 1983, 1984, 1989, 1992, 2000 Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 As soon as y'all get the DVD, you'll understand. Phantom '08 So many changes, so many CORPSES!!! It's AMAZING! Quote
HashBrownJM Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 cavaliers MACHINE Find me a melody in that show. Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Find me a melody in that show. I actually think Machine was one of their most melodic shows in the past couple of years. The ballad was very melodic. Theirs some nice licks in the intro too Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I'm sure I've already posted somewhere on this thread and with a different answer, but as of right now my favorite show is Vanguard 98. First show I ever saw Quote
radchad Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I'm sure I've already posted somewhere on this thread and with a different answer, but as of right now my favorite show is Vanguard 98. First show I ever saw Excellent show. I am no percussionist, but I view the percussion book from that year to be one of the best I have ever heard. I still like '99 more, though. Quote

Another good one from that year was the Summer Train Blues mix. And a lot of people didn't like it, but I really enjoyed Mood Swings from that year, too. Quote

TRUMPet Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Hey tickles, you thinking bout trying out for the cavies? So does that mean... And no love for spartacus i thought that was the most theatrical dci perf. ever Quote
CPtenor Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Cavies 95 or 02 Phantom 06 or 08 awesome shows. and on a side note, i wouldn't consider it the greatest show of all time, but Cadets 03 is just sweet. Quote
CPFrntEns Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Cavies' Machine.Best. Show. Ever. Agreed. Also, does anyone know where I could find a video of SCV '98? I think that's what our opener is based on. If I'm right, then I've heard that show was pretty good as well. (**looks at the last few posts** Dang that's a lot of CP members) Quote
radchad Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Cavies' Machine.Best. Show. Ever. That all depends on how many shows you have seen. ;P I'm different than most. My favorite Cavaliers show is '04. They just haven't been as ALL AROUND spectacular since then. Visually they are unbelievable.. musically.. I hope next year there is more in their show. Machine = Visually Awesome Musically = Not much melody. Quote
