The Woodlands "Endzone Members"

Why are there members that sit in the endzones for most of The Woodlands show before joining the band towards the end? I can't figure this out and I've been wondering about it since Grand Nationals.

I figure that they are alternates and they found a way for them to be a part of the show.

 

Duncanville uses their alternates to do Big Flag work in the back, or T-Pole runs, etc.

thats my assumption too. most people try hard to work their alternates into the show

i remember at one football game (i think it was the tomball game) their band members would switch out alternates in the middle of the show so that they could march...like they would literally run and take a person's set and then march a whole movement or whatever then switch and run out...so i mean i think that that would be a legitimate reason to why they are running in and out.

I remember in 05, they used these alternates to hold the orange streamers in their sleeves. I think its nice that they let them do stuff though

lol, our alternates help set up the drum major stands, then stand at attention on the track

our alternates to all kinds of stuff. Sometimes it's really random too, like the metronome boy.

our alternates stand in a line next to the pit, at ease.

 

everyone marches on the field until the 4th game, then it's contest mode and spots are set

 

it's nice to work in alternates, but some bands try that and have them doing box drill or marching in some alternate line backfield, it's kinda weird when not well integrated.

I think I'm going to ask to be a faker next year...it seems fun to march another instrument...
