...concert? *GASP*

Yeah, I know. I like marching season, but between my back injury and switching back and forth between bassoon and sax...it gets frustrating. However, nothing can compare to the feeling you get after you've had the best show ever. I just like playing bassoon better I guess...

I'd say I'm split between the 2 now leaning more towards concert season, but back in High School I gave serious thought to dropping out of band in the Fall and rejoining in the Spring bc I didn't like Marching Band at all. When I was an alternate and realized alternates get to sit in the shade the whole time and do nothing, I couldn't understand why everyone else wouldn't just say "screw marching" and come sit in the shade with the rest of the alternates.

I had no idea they actually enjoyed marching. It didn't make much sense to me, but Georgetown was strictly a UIL band back then (you could count the number of "visuals" we had in our show on one hand--yeah) and most people didn't even know what a drum corps was....so yeah, marching band was never a "fun" experience to me.

I'm indifferent with most people by saying 'marching band pwns'.

It truly does, but I also love concert season because my band director even has more witty/funny comments to say by insulting people in our band. Now that's always fun.. -making fun of people. Who doesn't do that?

I really hate marching season. I think that it has been pointless and not fun for me. I tried to quit this past year, but my Bd made me stay and i thank him for that. Im really love concert season. Its really fun and challenging. I think it depends on what school you go to whether you like marching or concert season. For me marching season has been really easy and it got really boring really fast. Thats why i wanted to quit. Concert season on the other had has been really fun and challenging. It has keep me up my toes. I think that my BD understood what the top band wanted this year because everyone is actually playing hard parts especially the low brass. This is just my opinion. I really love watching great bands march though. So dont get me wrong or anything.

well like all depends on how your directors make the season feel

like some people like marching because of the fact of being with everyone

in the band...other people like it because its more challenging to them

and its more competitive...but some people like it because the directors seem to

understand you more during marching season...cause they know that you

have marching and school and work and stuff and like they help you out (sometimes) lol! but like during concert season its like more laid back you dont have to be out in the sun...you dont have to stay after school as much...and you

dont have to worry about like A LOT of competitions...all you have on your mind is

solo and ensemble and of course UIL
