I was a glockenspiel for the first three weeks, I failed, got back in, and was the official sound boy/met (rhymes with stitch). It all worked out in the end. I made snare line Quote

Skippy Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 These days? SDA's aren't exactly new... It's not crazy either. Maybe there's just something in life that's a little more important than marching band. Quote

volleyballshark Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 So one day the metronome boy had to go to the bathroom, during our inside practice. Well our director asked the the boy to turn on the metronome well of course he wasnt there so one of our trombones said he went to the bathroom so our director asked well just turn on the metronome...well there was no metronome...he had taken it to the bathroom with him! now thats love! clarinetrocks Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 dude i totally remember that! omg that was so stupid! why would you need a metronome in the bathroom! i guess we'll never know! lol memories... Quote
crazyjakeup Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 ^have you ever seen howard sterns movie "privite parts"??? Quote
crazyjakeup Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 its acually a good movie. i highly recommend watching it... its like a biography Quote
Trumpet Master Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 There are these girls in our band who always faint or pass out after the show. So after a while people stopped giving a **** and just laughed at them. This brings us to the new rule where fruit is passed out before the games and we have to eat "in tempo". lol Quote
gavinrh Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 i wish i could pass out after every game... Quote
chickora Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Kind of reminds me of a fellow clarinet player of mind.. Did I mention that she hates me for one of the stupidist reasons ever? Quote
chickora Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Well, one, she has spread numorous amount of rumors about this guy who happens to be my best friend.. Like, she said that they have kissed before, but what really happened was she attempted to kiss him and he backed off... She tries to convince me it really happened, but he says he didn't, plus I witnessed what happened. Need I say, she is also very typical high school girl. Well, the guy she apparently liked had this ginormous crush on me and would flirt with me..so now she hates me for that..including that I am in Wind Ensemble and she isn't. Yeah, girls... None the less, she has ran off field crying twice claiming that she had a migrane and another faked fainting... Lame. Quote
Trumpet Master Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Yup, definetly sounds like a few people in my band. Go texas bands, we have kids who faint... lol Quote

crazyjakeup Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 the texas heat is a joke ... i usually practice in jeans three shirts and a hoodie (and a cap of course) during summer band. i got a hold of an alaskan parka and wore that to practice when it was like 102 degrees (three kids passed out that day) my director made me take it off ... i dont swet unless its during a preformance, which is wierd cuz it could be 100+ outside and i dont break a swet but at a contest that is like in the 40s i swet (not baddly though). UUUGH, I despise those kids. I've only had to sit out ONCE my entire life in band that was due to the fact I already had a fever due to severe sunburn none the less I forgot my water bottle. And it was only for max 10 minutes.. I've seen people sit out the entire 4 hours of being outside..talk about a waste of valuable learning. Quote
