What chair are you?

Right now I'm 1st chair in the second band. The kid that sits next to me:

 

1)Does not practice

2)Does not tune, and

3)Does not care

 

Auditions are coming up soon... Hopefully i'll move up to top band next semester.

for school we don't have chairs. for the past two years i've been in top band and have played 1st, 2nd, and 3rd part on 3 different songs both years. right now, it seems like that's the case for this year too, idk.

 

during our concerts, you see me switching chairs between songs.

im the first chair bari sax at Westfield...but there's only 2...in the whole band...in 2nd band right now but i will be in 1st next semester...

Ha that was me 2 years ago...but it wasn't really because I was that good. There were only 2 other bassoonists and one didn't care. He quit after my freshman year. The other would rather have been in percussion.

Lol, thanks but it's mostly cause were too small to split into two bands.

Im enjoy jazz a little bit more so i guess i actuley tried practicing when auditions came around lol

If you're in the second band right now, you couldn't possibly be first chair.

Clarinet section in the First band is highly competitive.

I'm 4th chair, but when it comes to playing ability, - We all have our weaknesses.

 

See, all the Round Rock clarinets that tried out, all but 3 didn't make it. I believe there were at least 7 to 8. I am too lazy to count.

1st Chair, 1st band. But I only have to really compete with one other flute, but after auditions this week I think my audition scores were better than hers; plus I made district band and she failed to try out so. Yeah.

We dont have chairs but i have been in my top band since my sophmore year. Since we dont have chairs, people are given a chance to play first part. Also, since i play euphonium, we dont really have different parts, it only applies to the high brass and the woodwinds.
