Does anyone know some good stuff that has to do with flight? A little bird flew into my ear and told me that that's what my high school is doing next year... also phantom is doing it for '07 so there must be some pretty good music based on it. Could you give me some names and composers?

At the 2006 BOA Concert Band Festival, there was a recently composed symphony piece premiered that was written about highlights of floght, from Icarus to Wright Bros. and beyond. I forgot the title and composer, but for a guy who hates themes in music, this piece is outstanding.

 

If any1 can do research on it, I'll kiss your girlfriend for you.

The piece you're talking about is "Sky Is Waiting" by Samuel Hazo.
