after the region switch, the region band organizer for us probably wasnt very experienced at this. we didnt even get folders (music came in big brown envelopes... )

 

what about you guys? did y'all get exciting music? ours was boring, put a 7 yr old to sleep after eating a pound of sugar

Ours came in envelopes too..we didn't get them until yesterday, along with the district patches

 

"October" is awesome..we might play that for UIL this year. The music is techincally easy, but it's one of those pieces that has to be played beautiful or you're screwed. We got something called "Kirkpatrick Fanfare" (??) and I can't even remember the other two songs..they were pretty boring, though. I certainly hope we get more challenging ones at the clinic. I mean, just because we're 2nd band doesn't mean we can't play. We survived that 5-hour-or-so audition!

Kirkpatrick Fanfare is really cool we played it at region last year. It looked kinda lame at first but I really liked it in the end. Cool horn stuff... but you don't play horn. lol

the first one is really hard to sight read but the others will have plenty of time to workout. Since we have like 10 hours of clinic time to do this stuff. Curse you region 5!

ha, I'm actually learning to play the french horn as of yesterday

We haven't even gotten our music yet. Our clinic isn't until next weekend. When do we get ours?
