xbones7480 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Crossmen Volunteers, Well, it is less 4 days away from the January Camp for the Crossmen. On January 12th until January 14th the Crossmen will continue to hone the skills of those looking to continue representing the corps and of those looking to be a Crossmen for the first time. If you are thinking about coming out to help please do so. If you are alumni from the San Antonio area please come by and help out helping prepare a meal or help wash pots and pans. A little goes along way during these camp weekend. If you joined us in volunteering during the December camp, we would like to thank you. We look forward to seeing as many of you once again as possible. If you missed the chance and are still looking to volunteer a few hours we are always looking for help. For others please keep us in mind as we move towards spring training and the summer tour. The December was a carbon copy of the November camp went basically without a hitch. The volunteers familiar with the in and outs of the Crossmen food truck were on hand as well were many of our sovie sellers and registration folks from San Antonio. With the color guard not returning until Spring the number of members and staff will be down about 50 people but we still need to process and feeding approximately close to 200 plus students and staff as the evaluation process continues in filling 135 positions in the drum corps. It is once again important that the students be able to focus on the responsibilities asked of them by the various staff evaluators. Our job as volunteers is to ensure that the students register in a timely manner as they have the past two months. Of course they can rest assured that there will be plenty of food during the meals with which they have become familiar. Every aspect of running the last camp will need to be attended to as well for this camp. Until we start to have the new moms and dads fill the shoes of the volunteers who would normally be at camp we are hoping the generosity those volunteers who have so graciously given their time will continue to do so. There is no doubt that with out your help camp would not be the success it has been. If you are an alumni from the San Antonio area please consider coming out to help out in preparing and meal, washing a few pots and pans or serving during mealtime. The regular volunteers would greatly appreciate the help. Come prepared to laugh alot, Megh Healy will be masterfully managing the food truck duties this month, Thank you Megh.
