The 2005 Cavaliers show was based on the city of Chicago. Ladders were used to represent the "Great Fire of 1871" which killed 300 Chicago residents and left 90,000 homeless. Quote

Skippy Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 The Cadets show was excellent, but I really disliked the "drum speak" part. I thought it was quite unnescessary, and I would have much preferred to see the year's best drumline playing a rockin' drum solo in it's place. From what I remember from San Antonio, the Cavaliers were great. They had insane drill that was way above every other corps, as usual. Personally, I would have liked to see Phantom above both of them. Quote
svh1126 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 phantom was absolutely incredible this year, i still cant get over their brass sound...gives me chill just thinking about it. i agree on the drumspeak with cadets, but i think difficulty-wise it was the hardest thing out there. they ran the whole show, even in the ballad, and still kept an incredibly tight sound throughout. it was just their year. i love sacktigs writing too, not as in your face as gaines and the cavies, but the subtlties and intricacy of his forms are incredible. maybe im biased, he writes for my old high school, but i think hes brilliant.
