Kelly11 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 What did you think? Which movie did you like better? I want to read to book now because the newer version was supposed to be more like the book. The 2 movies are just so different to me, I'm not sure which one I like better. Anywho...post your reviews, thoughts, comments, remarks, etc... I thought it was very entertaing, plus it's a good movie to bring your younger siblings to, it's not scary at all, the oompa loompas are kinda freaky though... Quote
Jag Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I can't compare the two movies, too different. I really liked it though, it was creative but not overly stupid. It comes with my recommendation. Quote
thedrumgod Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I went into it, thinking I would dislike it extremely. However, it was quite funny and I quite enjoyed it. Quote
Dynasty Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I thought it was incredible... The songs, the quirky Wonka, the nut room especially. I liked it more than the older movie because everything was happy, and they left out the scene like where Charlie drank the soda that made them float. Quote
Jag Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I liked how they left out the floating part too, but I missed the flavored wall paper. Quote

Sockercon Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Depp just creeped me out, ugh im having night mares Quote

It was ok. I guess I was never a big fan of the whole book to begin with. Johhny Depp was quite funny though. I guess if you like the whole Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story you will like it. I also thought that the gymnast girl and her mom were funny. That lady had very large eyes. Quote

Will_Doohit Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a great movie. Depp as Willy Wonka was awesome. He's the strangest actor I can think of and that made him do this part very well. Quote
Trumpetdude1076 Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I liked the orriginal... I think they need to come up with a better commercial though... im tired or hearing "Dont tough that squirells nuts??" Quote
insane_band_chick Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I thought it was hilarious. ecspecially when the ompa lumpas broke out into song. I thought Jonny Depp played a great Willy Wonka even though it made him look weird. and charlie was so cute lol. when the end credits started rolling out, i started singing along Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 this looks like one freaky movie...haha. But i think i'll go see it ne way. "DONT TOUCH THAT SQUIRELLS NUTS!!!" LMAO! Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 I had to read the book in second grade, and I've done all in my power to remove myself of that world ever since. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 darn... that was one funny movie. Jonny depp kinda looked like Michael Jackson though. Quote
craaazy dm Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Shoot... Charlie and The Chocolate Factory was awesome!!! "Hey lil girl.. lil girl!" "Thats just weird" ahahaha Quote
cookie_monster Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I'll admit that I thought I wouldn't like it but when I went and saw it, it was really funny. Yeah, Johnny Depp was a little weird in that role, but that's what made it so funny. Think about Pirates of the Caribbean. He made that movie funny, why not this one? Definitely a good movie in my opinion. Quote
Clarinot Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 he had a michael jackson resembelance... that kinda freaked me out, especially bringing all the children to the factory Quote
LordGiggles Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 yeah, it would of been better to make him an older looking person, instead of a young eccentric. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 yes, that would of been better... but would it have been just as funny? Quote
