bluebellbrass07 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 http://dci.org/news/news.cfm?news_id=3d043...1b-fc10d7d33ea7 Pretty much the same process as before, they've added a preliminary and finals voting round though. The twist? You won't know which shows made the lineup till you're in the theatre. I know, madness... Quote
Danpod Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I'm still going no matter what, but I know that people will be upset at the thought of possibly sitting through a show that they just cannot stand. Quote
LdTrumpetWailer Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 heck ya! I love the countdown and to boot, a surprise! I love this stuff. can't wait maybe BD 03' will make it cause I haven't seen that show on tape/DVD for a long time. Quote
Danpod Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I have a feeling some older fans of drum corps fear that the younger crowd will take over the voting and only shows from the 1990's on up will make it to the Final voting round. This is going to be VERY interesting. I still think we'll get a nice spread going into the last round but expect some "newer" shows to make it to the Top 8. Quote
LdTrumpetWailer Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 very true, but the funny thing is I never look at the post on DCI.com that mentioned 03' BD and I just randomly came up with it. then out of nowhere Phantom 89' assainates me. bleeh on the ground. I guess I can vote for both. Quote

Aegis Fang Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 you know what would be cool? If DCI had daily or weekly shows on the DCI site, a different show every day ranging from the 70s up through today, then people could see those older shows. But do the rights to the shows belong to the corps or to DCI? that'd be a problem... but it'd still be kinda cool. Quote

To my recolection, I don't believe DCI has had a problem with copyright stuff. Quote

Mark Time Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I like the fact that... "you choose any eight of your favorite performances of all-time. Selections can be made from more than 400 corps performances from 1974-2006, including those that have been featured in previous versions of the Classic Countdown." I think this might make it the best DCI countdown yet. Quote
