Nancy08 Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I figured out how to upload my stuff finally. Hopefully these links work. Feedback would be greatly apprecited! This one's just a solo. F minor, pretty slow. Bassoon Adagio Solo This one was pretty random, but it turned out better than expected. The Cowardly Prince, The Fiery Dragon, and the Beautiful Princess This is a brass quintet. Besides some weird keys it's a nice song. Ends w/ a little dissonance in the horn part. Dawn This is a full band arrangement. The transitions are a little shaky, and the dynamics haven't been worked out (especially the last note ), but it's still my favorite, at least of these four. If you have an idea for a name, that would be great too... No Name Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Well, as a trumpet player I liked it! I'll let my bassoonist friend listen to it and tell you what he thinks Quote
lionbc Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Nancy, your music is love! I listened to Adagio and No Name and really liked it. I already told you that No Name sounds medieval to me. I liked it over all, and I agree with you that the last note sounds weird (for lack of a better word). I need to listen to the middle two, but you already know I think you're an awesome composer, especially for having written as a sophomore and junior in high school. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would agree that you have talent beyond what a high schooler normally has. Good luck on your future compositions! Quote
Nancy08 Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 Here's an updated version of "No Name." Most of the dynamics are worked out, and I've added a couple sections. Let me know what you think! Note: I could still use a name too... No Name 2 Quote
Salesmonkey Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 keeps giving me an error when i try to open/download it. Quote
Nancy08 Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 ok I fixed the link. that just shows how computer challenged i am Quote

borchnork Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 I'd like to know how you put stuff online. I've been wanting to for a long time. Quote
Nancy08 Posted January 14, 2008 Author Posted January 14, 2008 I have no idea now. I knew before but I've forgotten and I can't find the page that used to tell you... Quote
lionbc Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I never realized the song they played was actually "No Name". It's been so long since you started working on that piece that it didn't seem like the same thing I guess? You still rock my socks Anna! Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Went back and listened to all your stuff. Very enjoyable to listen to! I really like the untitled wind ensemble piece. I thought that transition from minor to major at the beginning was probably my favorite part. What do you use to write your music? Quote
Nancy08 Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 (edited) Thanks so much! This is so old I really should update this page lol. Edit: Semi-update. Here's the real recording of No_Name (Inception). Not a great job on it but it beats midi... Inception I've been using finale since 05, updating every year. I really like it although I know there's a pretty hot debate about finale vs. sibelius. I've never used sibelius so i couldnt compare them, but i think both are very good. takigan Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Long live Finale!!! Death to the Sibelians!!! R@pe their towns and pillage their women!!! Yeah, it's a pretty heated debate. Quote
Nancy08 Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 I know this is a really old thread, but I figured people who visit this section of the forums would be most interested... I have a new website for my compositions and arrangements! The link is in my signature below, and any feedback at all would be greatly appreciated! PS- I'm always looking for performances, but right now I'm especially looking for good tbone players for my tbone solo. If you or anyone you know is interested, pm me or email me from the site Quote
