I'm basing this on attitude during marching season, not necessarily playing ability, we typically have good sounds.

Flutes: A, most of the time

Clarinets: A+

Saxes: A

Low Reeds: A

Trumpets: C, off task quite a bit of the time

Horns: A+, a bit eccentric, but on task

Trombones: C

Euphoniums: A+, not to be biased, but our euphonium section rocks

Tubas: A

Percussion: A

The band as a whole would probably get about a B+. Some people just can't seem to be on task, and I can specifically name 10 or 11 of them, and they seriously drag the band down, despite the fact that everyone else is working as hard as they can.

High WW: A-

Low WW: A

High Brass: B

Low Brass: A-

Percussion: A

Our low sections seem to be better in general...

1 all-stater and 4 area qualifiers vs.

2 area qualifiers in the high instruments

Does the alto clarinet really count as an area qualifier? Obviously you didn't hear him play... -_-

But yeah, we do have a pretty awesome low side to our band and the Bass Clarinet Seniors are friggin hauses (is that how you spell it?). Well, 3 of them atleast.

Oh yeah, and these are for LEANDER HIGH SCHOOL

Trombones: Is there a letter that stands for "so freaking amazing that simply hearing one will relax your body and cleanse your soul, as well as get any person of the opposite sex to instantly desire you"? If so we're that one.

In the Westwood High School Honor band:

Clarinets: A- (2 All-Staters, but some bad players too)

Flutes: B+ (Fairly balanced section, but our 1st and 2nd chairs are noticably better than the other members)

Saxophones: C- (Umm... it doesn't help that they all hate band)

Oboes: B (Pretty good, but nothing special)

Low Reeds: B- (A mix of good and less experienced players)

Trumpets: C+ (Just not all that great as a section, mess up a lot)

French Horns: A (Tim Martin is quite possibly the best horn player in the state, and Kaity isn't bad either)

Trombones: A++ (3 of the 4 players have made All-State, and the 4th made Area 2 years in a row and then slacked off before the Area audition both years, or he could've made it too. Just an all-around good section)

Euphoniums: A- (their only real problem is they're too quiet)

Tubas: B+ (Decent, but nothing stands out)

Percussion: C+ (Seem to not care about band that much, seem to get yelled at a lot)

And yeah, being one of those Trombone players, I might be a little biased toward my section, but I did provide a reasonable fact to back up the bias.

Flutes - A+ ( one all state, two areas, and a whole bunch of region players, possible our best section)

Clarinets - C+ (one all state, and then a decent player but then a huge DROP)

Low Reeds - B (nothing really stands out)

Saxophones - A (best section year in the school history)

French Horns - D- (all the seniors graduated last year and left us with a decent player and a bunch of mediocre players who got in top band by default)

Euphonium - A+++ (lol I wish) more of a B, my section doesn't balance out very well

Trombone - A+ ( probably best section in the band)

Tubas - B ( 2 of the 3 don't care and the one who does is average, not sure how they get the job done)

Trumpets - B+ (all-stater and a region player who should've made area, then a pretty good player, but a huge drop skill wise from there, atleast they all care about band though)

Double Reeds - B (awesome oboe player, nothing else really stands out)

Percussion - B (their always doing indoor drumline and when they're not there always messing around, it's not that they don't care about band, they're all drumline losers who are always practicing beating on a pad)

(Symphonic Band)

Marching Band.

Flutes - A (sadly our two area flutes are drum majors, but still alot of talent)

Clarinets - D ( there was more drama in this section then on an episode of Grey's anatomy, when what they should've been doing, was practicing)

Saxes - B+ (eh... could've been better)

French Horns - F (showed improvement but it was already too late)

Euphonium - C (could not hear anything from them)

Tubas - B- (really inconsistent)

Trumpet - B- (good players, just over played alot, and could've had marching help)

Trombone - A+ (almost perfect)

Snares - C (didn't like listening and only 2 snares really cared, the others really brought us down)

Tenors - B+ (realllly didn't fit into band until UIL time)

Basses - A (nice bass section this year)

Pit - D (a bunch of freshman, seriously nothing special in the least bit, could be a reason we don't play a high energy Reagan type show)
