Danpod Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 This is something I just came up with on a boring day off from work. Want to know how many students from each of the 10 UIL State Marching Finalists made TMEA All-State? This is based off of the TMEA.org site so if something is wrong, please don't hesitate to correct me. Marcus: All Staters - 12 L.D. Bell: All Staters - 7 Churchill: All Staters - 5 Duncanville: All Staters - 3 Reagan: All Staters - 2 Langham Creek: All Staters - 8 Coppell: All Staters - 10 Bowie: All Staters - 5 Berkner: All Staters - 7 Akins: All Staters - 0 It's just something fun to look at. Chime in with any updates from your school. Quote
chickora Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Round Rock - 4 Wow, its obvious that how well we do during region band doesn't show how good we do during marching band. Quote
VRHSRangerTBone Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Vista Ridge (4A) - 3 (an oboe, tenor trombone, and bass trombone, all of whom made first chair, tying us with McKinney North for the most first chairs in the 4A band) Quote
sax5warrior Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 SGPHS--0 for the 2nd consecutive year in a row. Even though we put HIGH region numbers Quote
aaron067 Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Can we now go back and see how competitive each area was for those bands? Marcus ended up with only 11, by the way. I originally counted twelve after their English horn player was selected, but the new number comes directly from Ms. Drinkwater. Quote
MartinHorn Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 SGPHS--0 for the 2nd consecutive year in a row. Even though we put HIGH region numbers Yeah, so do we. I guess it's actually 4 if you don't count Jazz All-Staters, but I would. Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Memorial - 1 freshman tmpt Quote
gavinrh Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 richland- like fourish? tuba, the fourth chair trumpet at our school last year (haha), french horn, and i think we had someone else... i think... Quote
radchad Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Mansfield - 4. Would have been five, but the trumpet player made first chair all state jazz. Quote
t3hZm4n Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Westwood- 5. The area realignment really hurt us. We were typically getting 10+ per year, but then we were put in an area with Coppell and Duncanville, which hurt all of us. Oh well Quote
