barisaxy08 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 every other year we take out tenors from our marching show but i dunno exactly why...i mean i think they are really important when it comes to cadences and football games...so why do directors take them out??? Quote
MartinHorn Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Also, depending on the skill and number of tenors, the part can sound dirty, so they take out some to clean it up. Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 One thing also is health problems. Noone really knows or talks about it, but 40-45 lns of tenor action is genocide on your back. If the average person crries 25% of their body weight on their back can ruin their back before adulthood. One report recommends 150 lb people shouldn't hold more than 22 1/2 lbs on weight with their back. http://www.icpa4kids.org/research/articles...ewsletter-2.htm Here's the site. It's designed for backpacks, but any marching instrument could easily apply. Quote
gavinrh Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 plus, the tenor sound gets lost in domes. Hence a lot of bands at GN won't take tenors because unless it's a feature, they won't be heard. Quote
