TRtrumpet Posted August 9, 2005 Author Posted August 9, 2005 The next time our football team will be any good is when the sophmores right now are seniors. Quote
musicloverforlife Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 my freshman year we were 4A and went to one round of playoffs. Last year, we moved up to 5A and really sucked it up. We even lost at homecoming Quote
Sockercon Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 our football team is soooo bad...the quarter back threw the ball into the stands with the band, and one of us caught it, it shows who should be playing football around here Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Our team has a reputation for sucking, but in the past couple of years it's actually gotten better. I have this theory, though, that there's an inverse relationship between how the football team does and how the band does. My freshman year we only won 2 games and the band went to Area UIL. Last year we won 6 games, and the band got a II at Region UIL. Quote
Sockercon Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 so its like, there good your bad, and vice versa Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 well we pretty much got killed in our first football game last night. I got realy tired of hearing thier fight song. Quote

Like at our football game last night the team was winning in the fist 2 quarters. Then at halftime our show went really well (not perfect, but no major disasters), and we ended up losing 23-26. I realize that that's probably not the real reason we lost, but it's still a fun theory to tote around. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 29, 2005 Author Posted August 29, 2005 well we just stood in the stands and played during halftime, and our football team still got killed... lol. Quote

It's especially cool because a lot of people are in the stands when we're marching and they always cheer for us We only won one game last year, and it was in overtime, by one point. We did pretty good my freshman year, when we beat the No.8 ranked 4A team, Dayton, and had a shot at going to playoffs. We didn't make it in, though...which worked well for me because I like concert season better Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 Pple just come to the games to hang out. No one actualy watches the games.... it would be to painfull... Quote
Sockercon Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 people come to see us, then they leave at half time Quote
Rebel_Bone_06 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Our football team is terrible and loses almost every game by more than 20 points, but our band is really good. I have come to a conclusion that apllies in most cases...if a school has a good band then the football team sucks hardcore and vise versa (notice i said in most cases so dont get pissed if ur football team is good lol) Quote
bored2damax Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Our team finish second in district last year then lost 1st round of playoffs to madison. it funny though that everytime our football team wins we did horrible during hafltime but when we do great at hafltime our fotball team loses the game. just wanted 2 bring that up. xredsummersunx Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 James Bowie at Austin = the suckiest football team. Ever. I don't get it; everyone's so into the football team who can't win to save their lives...yet we go to finals in BoA every year and get nothing. It's awesome how it works like that. I just remember my freshman year we played Leander...it was a shut-out, 49-0...and to me it was like "hey! welcome to Bowie! this is what you're stuck with for the next 4 years!" Quote
Lustra.exe Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 contrary to most or all of these responses, our football team is really good. they made 4A quarter finals last year and it was pretty intense... our band and football team have a wonderful relationship and we both support eachother very much. i remember my freshman year at UIL State alot of football players skipped that monday to come out and support us. but of course they get just a little bit more glory than us. but who cares about glory when you have that good of a bond between two completely different organizations? Quote
Mculbert07 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Drew, they might have been looking for a reason to skip. But I'm sure they were supporting us as well. Quote

TRtrumpet Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 well we beat our rival team, so MAYBE they arent as bad as I thought... Quote
whit06 Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 #1 in central texas, wahoo. Actually, i'm internally debating whether or not I would like them to make playoffs this year. It was so nice last year when we didn't have football games into November. But, it's pretty much guarenteed we'll be in at least one playoff game, I'm guessing. Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 This is unbelievable... not only does our team not suck this year, but we're first in district! We might make it to the playoffs! I don't want to go to playoffs! That means more football games for band to go to, and I want marching season to end when it's supposed to so I can better focus on other stuff like region music and drum corps auditions. PrideOfPearland Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Nope, our football team is friggin awesome. Quote
R e a g a n.clarinet Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Our football team generally does suck. A lot. But this year... I m guessing because of the new coach, we've been winning most of our games. Woo... Quote
TRtrumpet Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 Well.... we lost our homecoming game to a team that hasent won in two years.... wow. Quote
t.d.u.b.0.7. Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 oh wow. I don't know what I'd do if our football team sucked.. especially considering I'm in love with football but.. nope. our football team doesn't suck. right now we're 5-0 in district 14-5A... but we're playing against another 5-0 team on friday. uh oh!
