But. It's on our myspace THat is finally up again!!! http://www.myspace.com/mhstigerband anyways... I promise it will get better!!! And one more thing. Cathedral Windows, our show last year, was recorded the second day of LAST YEAR'S band camp... We just do crappy recordings to give the guard something to practice with. But yeah go check it out. Our video is also on our myspace. Quote
rdzsaxplaya Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 We played through our show music, all of it, before we left for summer vacation, sounds kick butt, but there also a recording of our closer on our Band myspace, performed by the madison scouts. Our sounds just lyk it, without some solos of course, man i love that song! the link is in my sig, if anyone wants to go hear it or if any bands want to go add Quote
VRHSRangerTBone Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I'm not at Vista Ridge anymore (just graduated), but everything I heard during band camp was very very cool. I won't go into detail about everything, but there's a little bit of 2003 Phantom Regiment and a little bit of Whitacre so far. Some of you really knowledgable people might be able to pick up on a theme... Quote
mbui Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Marcus has released their show title for the 2007 season. Marcus HS, TX 2007 "Botanika" http://www.marcusband.com/publicshowannounce.htm Quote
the terminator Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 That's cool but since I'm not a member I can't sign in Quote
Nancy08 Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Ha I just got score and audio for our entire show next year. I'm excited. It sounds awesome, and I'm lovin the end of the second piece (which will remain unnamed ), but not so much the third. Hopefully they'll cut it or change it or something... Quote
borchnork Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Hm, I've said this before in another room, but our show music this year is "Bells for Stokowski". our directors seem to have hit some trend w/ Michael Daugherty. Quote

mbui Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Their 2005 show was "Fowl Play: Music of the Birds" Quote

borchnork Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Hah, it's interesting. A lot of kids in our band really like it, but idk... it's a little to unoriginal from Daugherty for my tastes. I heard from the director at University of Michigan though that Marcus has one of THE best recordings of that song, even better than the North Tx Wind Symphony. Congrats to you guys. Quote
borchnork Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Here's a Midi realization of our shows... they're missing the percussion parts that still need to be written, and so there's long periods of breaks where it seems like the music just stops... and also, this is just a draft of the final 2 mvmts. anyways: http://media.putfile.com/Bells-Mvt1a http://media.putfile.com/Bells-Mvt1b http://media.putfile.com/Bells-Mvt2 http://media.putfile.com/Bells-Mvt3 http://media.putfile.com/Bells-Mvt4a http://media.putfile.com/Bells-Mvt4b Quote
TRtrumpet Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 We're doing music from Chicago... hope it's cool. Quote

Fortisimo Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I hope Martin got a good arranger. They're gonna need it. Perhaps that's just the aftertaste from last year speaking though... Quote
