arundo Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I couldnt take the poll because our best section isnt up there. For marching season, Of course percussionist. But for concert season, Our Double Reed section is phenomenal(sp?). Our bassoons, oboes, and English horn players are all extremely talented overall. We also have really strong sections as well..We honestly dont have a best, but I could say we have a really strong player in every section. Quote

They both had about the same number of people all and all make region, but this year, it's a definate that the flute section is our strongest. Quote

But the_drum_major is right....we have a really strong woodwind section and I don't think there is any section out of all the woodwinds that exactly dominates. We're all equally awesome Quote
Aegis Fang Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Well lets see. Our all state flute player graduated, so now they suck. We have two good clarinets, but we have about 25 of them total, so they suck too. We had one trombone make district, out of 8, so they suck. We had one french horn player make 2nd chair in state, but the rest suck. We had two trumpets make state, four make area, and about 8-10 make region and district. So the trumpets are definitely the best section in our band =p You listen to a recording of our show, and the only thing you hear is trumpet trumpet trumpet. and drums... but any drummer can be loud. euro_euph06 Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 The best section during marching band at my school is the Baritone/Euphonium line. We are the cleanest, loudest, and just down right good. We were the least ticked section in the band this past season. We had our problems between the section and section leader, but in the end they were resolved. We just strive to be better than the next guy. Quote

Our Trumpet section woulda been PHENOMINAL but we had a few bozos who screwed everyone over with thier lack of respect and character. In concert season i would have to say its a tie between all our woodwinds and Trumpets (now). I think next year the trumpets will be the best because the two quit and they were seniors anyways. Quote

Flutes and saxes may be called the worst since only 1 flute made it to region and none from the saxes, and the fact the saxes are the only section in the entire band to not make region (shame...) I suppose we can assume, for the sake of this poll, that "percussion" means drumline and "mallets" means pit/"front ensemble". Quote
