Yeah... That makes no sense. If you are going to separate mallets, then you must separte the drumline and/or the snares, tenors, basses, ect...

I suppose we can assume, for the sake of this poll, that "percussion" means drumline and "mallets" means pit/"front ensemble".

At our school.

We combine the pit and drumline..

and just call it.

Get this..

Drumline

But hey, this is what is at my school.

Hey!! Each school is different. :-P

I don't think we really have a weakest or strongest section at the moment...a lot of people are kind of slow at learning music. I am probably one of the few that can take the music at tempo. If I had to pick one though, I would say drumline and front ensemble. They both are just expected to learn the fastest, be the cleanest, work the hardest, and be the most disciplined.

It sort of depends on what aspect you're talking about. Playing wise it's probably the trumpets right now. Marching it either has to be the clarinets or maybe the tenor saxes. Percussion is good at both. It's kind of hard to tell right now who will be the best.

our weakest are the trumpets and percussion... soo very sad the even sadder part is the tubas arent that far from being weakest. we have a stupid STUPID StUpId section leader and only like three people outta 8 can play the first page of music by memory soo sad

The only section from our band to have the music memorized is the middle section (Mellos & altos). For that, we get a free DQ lunch tomorrow at the band hall :D :D .

-Oh and for the record, when I made this topic for some reason I put "Mallets" instead of "Pit"... don't know what I was thinking but it's supposed to say "Pit" on the last option.

Overall, the Low Brass is the best. We have a few good sax players, but we had the 1st chair Trombonist last year. I'll be most interesting to see this year's state results.
