borchnork
I think we may be able to send 5 bands from Area B now. we played Lake Dallas this past week, and they usually get 2's at UIL, but this year they are MUCH better. I'm expecting them to get a 1 and I also feel that Little Elm may have stepped up their game this year as well. So that hopefully adds two more bands to the list on Area B. the terminator
of course, the want to see you get a 1 so we can beat you game
riverfan
Hey, by the way, we (Aledo) marched all five mvts. of our show last friday, we're excited to see some great bands at TOC. "Universal Dimensions" arr. Mark Higginbotham 1. Creation 2. Existence 3. Metallic 4. Ethereal 5. Warp Speed http://www.markhigginbotham.com/showlistcelestialbodies.html What do ya' think? Reply.. borchnork
this week is mvmt. 4 for us. Hopefully we can get it all up to tempo by Saturday. It's going to be SO hard to march 172-180 in the closer and learn how to keep it consistent for such a long time.
SerialSleeper90
I seriously don't think we'll get it by sat. If we do, we'll probably we marching the first 3 movements pretty cold on saturday. Either way is fine for me though. Learning the 4th sooner means more time for cleaning the show as a whole before region and area.
ddmwingz
i think were gonna end up marching up until the tempo change(4th mvmt), or maybe a little farther to a set that is more condusive to playing. either way, i hope we dont spend all week learning the 4th mvmt, cuz we will probably look pretty bad on saturday if we do. borchnork
yah. Agreed. I think the drill we have learned right now takes us up to the measure before the tempo change.
RooBandAlum119
I see everybody on here mentioning the North Texas schools going to and winning state. Lets not forget about the CenTex schools!! Copperas Cove, Brenham, McCallum, Connally, LBJ, and Vista Ridge all have chances of going to state!! Connally just might wint he thing. Copperas Cove has been a 5A school for the longest and now they are 4A.....so I think they have a shot.
PlayOboe
Oh yeah, I totally agree that Connally is a strong contender for the title. They were probably the favorite going in last time. I still think their 2005 show should have medaled. Don't forget about Hendrickson and New Braunfels from the Central Texas set. Both made finals last time and can probably do it again. As far as show progress goes, I think Poteet is performing their whole show for the first time at the Highland Park game this Friday and then again on Saturday at Mesquite Marching Festival. Area is less than a month away! Seems like things are aligning for everyone now....

borchnork
Aledo is looking very good. I was wowed by their show. I'm assuming The Colony is also doing well considering the placed higher than Aledo at the CTOC.
PlayOboe
My sources tell me that Sherman was very, very impressive at the Mesquite Marching Festival. I'm hoping for a video from either MMF or their performance next week at Plano East. Their drill is supposedly much more demanding than usual. I'm interested to see it. borchnork
I wouldn't be surprised. Looks like we're going to hafta step up our game. O well, it just makes for a more interesting Area B competition.
HHSBaSsTrOmBoNe'09
I think Area D will be a good show... and i believe that there is potential in Dripping Springs They're already pretty clean from where i have seen them (Back sideline, on the field at about the 10 or so yardline.) I wouldn't be shocked if they came into the picture. But i'm also seeing the "Brother" Rivalry between Hendrickson and Connally coming back. All I know... is that its going to be one heck of a night! (Good luck to the other areas! I wish you the best!)
borchnork
I think if we see Sherman beat Poteet Again this weekend at Plano, we can easily expect a new 4A state champ. And we'll be marching against Sherman at area.
whitewing09
i saw Hays they looked pretty good and New Braunfels looked badda$$ so did steele, no one really considers them i guess cuz they just opened up a couple of years ago but they got alot of potential

longhornsax
Everyone always counts out dripping springs for Area D and I don't really get why. They had a off year at area last time around, but I think they probably should have made it and will be a big threat this year. Westlake will be a good preview... drumajorfernando
What are the Area A predictions?
borchnork
I'm not quite sure who's in Area A... I believe Fossil Ridge is. And if they are, they're on my list to make it.
bonepit06-07
I actually have seen dripping springs show but im not gonna say wat i thought because, when i saw them it was from backfield and it prolly wont be acuurate our band knows how hungry they are and im not counting them out i hope that we see them at Finals at Westlake sat so that i can get a accurate idea of how good they are... But your predictions are always welcome what do you think of Area D 1 2 3 4
the terminator
I believe Sherman is going to make a serious run at Poteet this year
