TX Suh-nare Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Tell me your favorite year for drum corps, and give a decent reason. Kind of like this... My personal favorite is the 1997 year. Many of the shows were amazing that year. You have the Blue Devils playing "As Time Goes By" which is an UNBELIEVABLE show, SCV playing Bernstein's "On the Waterfront" (which could have been a legendary show in my opinion), an awesome PR drumline, and the best Madison Scouts show I've seen to date. (Oh, yeah, and them Cavies are in SIXTH, right where they belong!) Go ahead and give it a go! Quote
mbui Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Hands down, 2000. There was so much depth in the top 5. All outstanding shows. Quote
Moose Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Most Definately 2000. I cannot think of a single show that wasn't very good. Quote
Skippy Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 1992 Personal favorites of mine: SCV - Fiddler on the roof - favorite drum corps show of all time BD - I'm a sucker for "When a Man Loves a Woman" Crossmen - Probably my favorite crossmen show ever Velvet Knights - My favorite VK show, so many hilairious things - Godzilla, energizer bunny, fat lady, shark... Bluecoats had a cool Beatles show. Although, I havne't watched the top 5 from 1992 in a long time, and don't really remember them. But if I did, I'm sure I would like 1992 even more than I do now. maverick Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 My favorite year's were 95-97. 97 was my favorite cause it just blew me away, then 95 cause of a Drum Corps Fan's Dream and Planets along with a few other things, then in 96 i liked all the show ideas even if some of them weren't a developed as they could of been. TX Suh-nare Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 Nice picks, ya'll. '96 was an outstanding year as well, especially for BD and PR. I'm mad that I haven't seen too many 2000 shows (only Cadets and SCV), but also look into 2002. Cool music, and I'm a sucker for the PR in Khaki. Quote
