Fortisimo Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Symphonic Movement Blue Shades Song of Aeolus First public performance for the Cadets this season. Tight, friggin' balls. Narration needs some work, but as far as music goes, I love it so far. Quote
NSUMusician Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I hated it! I enjoyed Westfield 03 and Kennesaw Mountain 04 more than the Cadets show. TAKE OUT THE NARRATION! It does nothing for the show. I'm ok with some tasteful narration, i.e. Bluecoats 07, Cadets 05, etc. This has just gone too far. It takes away from the musical performance. Also, to me it seems a bit "snooty." They act like they are the only ones who make sacrifices and stuff. The music is awesome! They are playing really well, but the narration takes away from the whole show. Quote

Fortisimo Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 Well, like I said, the narration isn't that great. The opening to Aeolus is the only part that I thought didn't suck as far as that goes, but the music kicks major ****, so I figure just ignore the bad and take the good. Keep in mind, this is their first performance, and I've heard the narration has been vastly improved since then. Quote
Trumpet Master Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 i honestly don't mind it at all. It may sound like a high school but the brass and drumlines are on fire for june. Quote
mbui Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 The more that I watch the show, the more that it's starting to grow on me. It's not as bad as some make it out to be. I could do without the cheese of the narration. Because when you take out the voice, the music is pretty awesome. Quote
Danpod Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 From what I've heard, they have trimmed the narration down some since the first show. Quote
mtrombone Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 To me, the best brass and percussion of the night could not salvage that cheese ball. It's hard to concentrate on music with them stuffing their hard work and dedication down my throat. Quote
