borchnork Posted October 28, 2007 Author Posted October 28, 2007 I guaran-darn-tee you (like our director always says) that we'll try our hardest to make finals. After all, we were 3rd going into finals at area. I love our 4th mvmt at the tempo change. ahh, the first time we watched the video (even though it wasn't really that good of a performance of it) I got chills down my spine cus of the way the drill worked with the music. Ern3sto09 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I really can't wait to see your show now. I am intrigued. I haven't been on these boards very long. So tell me, who is everyone expecting to win state this year? Besides Poteet of course.. Quote

Between preparing for state, our marching contest, an away game.. then getting up to work all day at the contest (I can't believer you're only working one shift, Michael)... I mean geesh... then state... Hosting our own marching contest and then goign to state is probably pretty stressful on our band director, and the poor guy is stressed enough as is. And lol... I thought we were talking about making finals at CMF.. I was like... we can't make finals because we're not competing. We're exhibition lol. Quote
borchnork Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 First off, I'm actually working all day, but I just signed up for a random shift because Ms. Hartenberger told me to. When did we burst up out of nowhere? probably the start of the 3rd mvmt. when we had the giant bass drum hit w/ our horn pop. and State wise... I think Sherman has a VERY good chance. I'd also like to see Connally or Hendrickson take it this year. Quote
borchnork Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 well, thanks. Enjoy it again on Saturday, and possibly at State if you get a chance to see us! Right now, I don't think the fact that we've made it has really sunk in for me. Wow... so yah, no matter what we place, I'll be happy. Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 first of all, thanks for the compliments on our show. means alot. wish i couldve seen ur show. secondly, at state, lets try and make area B kick backside Quote
borchnork Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 Completely agree about Area B. Let's show the State what North Texas is capable of! I'm beginning to think that hiring Mike Gains as our drill writer really paid off. =] Quote
the terminator Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I think people don't realize that Dripping Springs that made it in Area D or E I think will also be there. I have no idea why they are making such a long trip or maybe they realized they would make state and wanted to compete w/other state bands like TC Sherman, Aledo, and Centennial. It's going to be fun. As for us this is like our state championship being a 3A school competiting against some of the best 4A and 5A schools of this area is huge for us. So we plan on leaving it all out there Quote
the terminator Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 yeah remind me about it . I believe you guys are the band after us in prelims. Still I believe u guys are really good even though I only seen u once, and I hope u guys do well Sat. then on Tue Quote
the terminator Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Plano East, Plano, Allen, Dripping Spring(state qualifier from Area D or E), Arlington Martin, Mansfield Timberview, Wakeland Quote
Ern3sto09 Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Did any of the 5A bands qualify for state last year? Quote
the terminator Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 no I mean at this contest in performing time, sorry for the confusion Quote

GenericWit Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 If you go to our band website, www.centennialband.com and click on Centennial Marching Festival (somewhere in the top right corner, I think) you can find detailed information including a schedule... I think east is gonna take the contest. Quote
Drillz Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I think that it would either be us, or Plano Senior High that win the contest. Their show this year is "RIDE"!!! Yes Samuel Hazo's Ride. It's going to be a face off between Olympiada Vs. Ride! Quote
Donezo Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I think Plano East or Allen would win before Plano Senior would...... Quote

I'm gonna go with Sherman. Div. I Is all speculation for me as I have not seen any of the big bands or heard much about their placements, but I'm going to guess Plano East or Allen. I know they have pretty solid marching institutions. Its too bad the colony is a div higher than the rest of the 4A contenders. This competition is going to be really interesting for me. I'm looking forward to seeing Timberview (they beat us LE, but I didn't get a chance to watch them), Sherman, Dripping Springs, Frisco, and all of the 5A Bands. Also, it'll be really cool to see how much Aledo and The Colony have improved (even though it'll be after area). *Snort* he called Dripping Springs a 5 A school...please we have 120 kids in our band.
