borchnork Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 Of course it's not real. Although, The first paragraph was put up on JK's website. I believe that one. Unless it comes from mugglenet.com or jkrowling.com, I don't believe anything I read. Quote
the terminator Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Movie was horrible, and way too short. It was even shorter than 4 which is really odd. Great Expectations is too long b/c of dickens and scarlett letter was pure horrible. Ender's Game was cool Quote

Pretty freaking hard to fake that, even with 1337 photoshopping skills Quote

I realized, we missed seeing Ron and Hermoine being Prefects... Quote

Pretty freaking hard to fake that, even with 1337 photoshopping skills Considering that: 1. The printers of the book are working in total darkness 2. There are armed guards surrounding Bloomsbury and Scholastic printing press and 3. Employees at the factories are searched daily before and after work I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt that anything authentic will come out of those buildings. Quote
t3hZm4n Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Actually, the book has already been shipped to retailers, so what is far more likely is that some small retailer broke street date and sold a book early (potentially to an employee or something). Also, JKR said in an interview that the past 3 books had been stolen, so... you never know. Quote
borchnork Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 Here's something straight from Mugglenet.com, with this security, I doubt something out there is authentic. Bloomsbury forks out to keep Book 7 safe A new report analyses the measures taken by UK Potter publisher Bloomsbury to keep Deathly Hallows unspoiled. It is from Tuesday, however, when copies begin to be sent out to retailers, that the most crucial part of the security operation will come into effect. The trucks Bloomsbury will use are fitted with satellite tracking systems costing up to Quote
t3hZm4n Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Key word there is UK. The US publisher, Scholastic, has likely not taken quite so drastic measures. Once the books are in the retailers' storage rooms, it's anybody's guess as to what they do with them. I'm not saying I believe the spoilers 100%, I'm just saying there's a reasonable chance of them being real. Besides, with Half Blood Prince, a scan showed up early of pg. 606 (the big spoiler of the book), and nobody believed it because it was supposed to be secure. Sure enough though, it was real. Again, not saying I'm guaranteeing the leaks are real, just saying it's definitely a reasonable possibility Quote
borchnork Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 Eh... Like I said before, I only trust what's on Mugglenet.com or Jkrowling.com (or maybe scholastic/bloomsbury, but they hardly ever hand anything out like that) The likelyhood of anything actually leaking w/ this book is probably slimmer than the odds of winning the lotery. Quote
whitewing09 Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 is it evning worth talking about the book is coming out this weekend isnt it? Quote
t3hZm4n Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Well, regardless, I have links to scans of the epilogue. I don't know if they're real or not, but I'm gonna hold on to them, and after I read the book, I'll go back and see if the scans were real. If so, then the book did in fact leak over one week early. If not, then I'm just gullible haha Quote
crazyjakeup Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 we are getting a shipment in a couple of days... yes this book shall be spoiled... Quote

Even if you're just joking, I think you should know something. You have to understand that there are MANY people, including me, that have grown up with this series. You may think it's funny to spoil it, but I can guarantee that the hilarity for you won't nearly compare to what you're doing to them. And if that's funny for you... wow. If you're just screwin around and don't really mean that, then whatever. I really hope you are. Quote

borchnork Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 I'll hafta say that I agree... Anybody who is sick enough to try to ruin a book like that is just pathetic. had to get that out in the open. And if a criminal lawsuit is hillarious... I don't know what you would consider serious... Quote
