any idea if theres a way we could see how close it was? i mean, i dunno if they use a scoring system or anything, id imagine theyd have to, but, if anyone knows itd be appreciated if ud let me kno. thx

I have no idea about how close it was. The panel consists of five judges who rank the fourteen bands and then the high and low scores are dropped for final calculation of rank. Only the top seven bands are posted and I don't think rank/scores are ever revealed to anyone besides directors.

And I don't care how close it was. I think it's a huge honor to be in the top bands for honor band.

 

Congrats to Poteet for beating us. I know you've gotta be one heck of a band to do that.

Wow. I think we did pretty good for the first time. Congrats to Poteet and Centennial for beating us and congrats to all the other bands that made it.

I don't know about the other bands, but our scores from the five different judges were 1, 1, 4, 5 and 7

we were pretty consistent with our scores. i think my director said we got a 2,2,3,3,2. it mightve been a 2,2,3,2,2 though. i dont remember exactly what was said

I'm curious as to what our scores were. I probably won't find out until our band camp starts on Tuesday though.

if you go to www.centennialband.com and go to the online store (or maybe even the main page) you can buy the Best of UIL CD which is the recording our band submitted (and it'll have our other two bands uil programs on there as well).

Since I run it, Let me just say, that the instant I find a program to convert all the songs to mp3 format, they'll be up...

Congrats to all, especially Southwest High School. Who would have thought that a Fort Worth ISD wind ensemble would be the 3rd best concert band in Texas? (I did). Good job, kids!
