GARRETTxFLOWERS Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 hey. creekview isn't on the list yet but our new director, preston hazzard, does things with BOA symposium and so he got us a friday slot. were not on there yet because he just got us that spot. we should be considered because we almost made finals last year at BOA SA (14th place when they took 12 to finals) while beating the band that got 10th at state! plus our 2nd band director is kara hoeflinger who won the drum major of the year award for dci in 2004 with the phantom regiment is making our marching like 15 times better and adding visuals every chance we get. and im the one with the flugel horn solo in the third movement oh new uniforms also. so be on the lookout Quote

GARRETTxFLOWERS Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Quote To think... all of that would have been happening to FHS if Hazzard and Hoeflinger hadn't moved im sorry that happened to y'all.. we lost all three as well and it was equally hard. Quote
borchnork Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Oh, I don't go to FHS, I go to Centennial, cross town rival. But I was really looking forward to what Hazard had planned for FHS this upcoming year. Their show was supposed to be based off of Dr. Seuss stories and it sounded really really cool. Quote
GARRETTxFLOWERS Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 oh. hahah ok. well our show this year is marionettes and we are doing like all these marionette like moves to get big GE points Quote
borchnork Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 GARRETTxFLOWERS said: oh. hahah ok. well our show this year is marionettes and we are doing like all these marionette like moves to get big GE points I just found out that that was Originally going to be the show that FHS was going to do before Hazzard and Hoeflinger changed their idea to Dr. Seuss. You are also using a lot of the music that was for the Dr. Seuss show, because the new FHS director said he really didn't care to use the original show idea. Quote
PlayOboe Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I would love to see Roma make finals. They just barely missed it 2005, but won the AA title. The field is pretty similar this year, so I think they have a pretty decent shot. Quote

(part one is a sax solo to make it sound like an music box thing i think? and part three is real pretty) Quote
borchnork Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Getting it from one of the FHS kids who still talks w/ Hazzard on a regular basis. It's not music from Dr. Seuss, but the show was Dr. Seuss themed. It's supposed to be some sort of modern Symphony... I can't recall the title off the top of my head though. Quote
GARRETTxFLOWERS Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 we actually have a modern symphony in parts 2a and 4. its elfmans only symphony. Quote
borchnork Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 And Vide Cor Meum is the song that they were going to use. My FHS Friend said it's probably NOT your lyrical section that its being used for. Ask Hazzard... he'd know better than my 2nd hand information. Quote
GARRETTxFLOWERS Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 our lyrical is actually music from an icelandic pop group but i don't want to say who because i don't know if i've said too much... Quote
borchnork Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 ehh, if you think you've said too much, then I'm guilty as well for talking you into more details. Sounds interesting though! Quote
SerialSleeper90 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 late response, but anything that involves marionnette dance moves wins in my book! lol i know weird attraction. Quote
GARRETTxFLOWERS Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Quote late response, but anything that involves marionnette dance moves wins in my book! lol i know weird attraction. it's not really dance moves like hebrons ddr stuff. it's like we are being controlled by the puppet master. so basically choreography to look like marionettes. that's cool that someone thinks the show will be good though thanks! Quote
SerialSleeper90 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Oh I know what you mean. you should check this out. http://youtube.com/watch?v=PkUnoG-wmLU one of my fav videos of all time. I have a feeling that its nothing like what you guys are doing, but just showing why i fell in love with marionette dances/moves. Quote
