ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Holy.. that was insane. "Pre-K Japanese kids...marching & playing drums pretty freakin well! The girl w/the sax isn't playing an actual one...it's a "midi" sax. So she's pressing the keys & blowing through the horn...but not actually playing it. This film was featured @ Dr.Tim Lautzenheiser's clinic @ TBA where he was making the point that a director should never say their band can't do something" this is the description. so i'm guessing he made his point quite clear. Go Asians! Quote
Trumpet Master Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Its like a mini-Regean HS with all the synth Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I'm amazed at the cleanliness of the show. It's one thing if they just went out there and did a show, but they marched almost perfect drill and paly pretty darn well! Good thing I age out before they get to a decent age, or else I might get replaced by these guys! Quote
mbui Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 The little girl that's playing the EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) sax solo.... I want to hear her play the EWI sax solo from Spring's 2000 show, Altered State. Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 SO. FREAKIN. CUTE. And those adorable little drums... it's almost too much to take! Quote
SerialSleeper90 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 KAWAII!!! Yet it was kind of scary at the same time... Quote
tigercat11 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 that's actually quite resonable japanese people. if you think about it they are very disaplined people. they do things that people here would never even think about doing. Quote

barisaxy08 Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 i wonder how much i would suck if i was in a Japanese marching band. Quote
BassoonPadwan Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 That's AWESOME. I used this as a source of inspiration for our band. It really helped some people out of some things they were going through. Thanks man! You rock! Quote
borchnork Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 When I told kids in our band about it, they just thought it was cruel and unusual punishment... that's sad. Quote

Go Asians! yeah, Dr.Tim showed us that video! He came down to our school and did his whole leadership thing for everyone in leadership positions in our band. After he worked with us, he said he enjoyed it so much he wasnt going to accept any money from us, and he flew down to Texas with his own money to speak with us in the first place. HE IS AWESOME!
