txsweetheart183 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 So it's the start of a new season. How is your drumline doing this year? Is it better, worse, the same, or just completely a different feel from years past? Quote
bonepit06-07 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 i have no idea they sound they same to me ask Alex or somethin Quote
bonepit06-07 Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 sry i wasnt clear but ask Alex at Connally hes the section leader of the battery Quote
Sp0ted G0rilla Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Cedar Parks Drumline is wrecking shop Quote
borchnork Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 OUr drumline is doing MUCH better this year. Our percussion director always rights the pit and drumline parts to the show, and for some reason this year, it seems like a completely different writing style than he's used before, but I like it a lot better. ddmwingz Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 our percussion director(ill answer for michael) is Derrick Logozzo. as far as how our drumline is doin, i agree, they are doin much better. Quote
borchnork Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Yah... Logozzo... he was head of Percussion Studies at UNT about 5 or 6 years ago... Quote
gavinrh Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Our line's finally good enough to have a feature... it's pretty cool if i may say so myself. Quote
MaverickBand15 Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Our Drumline and Front Ensemble is at the top of its game this year. It's the best that its ever been. Quote
borchnork Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I'm praying that we start winning percussion captions again. We used to all the time freshman and sophomore year... and last year it just kinda dropped off... Quote
Guest Guest Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 We at McNeil beat RR percussion for the 1st time ever this year Quote
QuadraticBeats Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 As far as our line goes - Um... Mmmmggggrrrrllll. Excepting the basses. And ya, I concur about Cedar Park. Quote
urkadrums Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 georgetown drumline is once again sweet. we were a little nervous, bc our battery is small this year, only 4 snares, 2 tenors, 5 basses, 4 cymbals. (14 in the pit) but apparently that wasnt troubling. we didnt go to belton drumline contest this year, bc we decided to go to plano drumline contest. (and congrats to c.p. for winning belton, that was so much fun hanging out with yalls pit at the gtown vs cp game a couple weeks ago) we won plano in the top standstill divison, and 4 captions. a great start to a great season. hope everyone else is doing well. haven't seen RR's line yet. heard they got 3rd in percussion at Capital City Marching Fest. we got 1st. seems like its going to be a nice competitive year yet again RR :] Quote
borchnork Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I don't know what it is, but our drumline got 15th out of 18 in prelims at Carrollton and 10th in finals this past weekend. I wonder what they're doing wrong.? Quote
the ridge emily Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 yea our drumline got 3rd overall at crowley and best base line b/c our pit was sloppy with the 4th mvmnt!! but our d-line did suprisingly well so...... so is anyone here going to Lone Star on Nov 10th Quote
BDAZdrummer Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 my line won best drumline at both katy and alief we already had aa awesome percussion director but on top of that we added a new one this year old PD- john hinojosa [cavies 1982-1984] new PD - Sommer, Todd [cavies 1994-1996] Quote
urkadrums Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Ah, You tied Colleyville Heritage for first at PdlC yeah we did tie colleyville heritage. didnt get to see their show, but congrats to them too :] Quote
borchnork Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I think our drum line got 9th this past weekend... not sure. I'm still kind of clueless as to what's going on with them now. Quote
Sp0ted G0rilla Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Well I cant say I have heard Round Rocks show but I have had it described to me by someone who has and it is pretty much Round Rock Drumline with acompanyment of Round Rock Band in that all the band does is hold out whole notes after whole notes while the drumline plays like the same triplet rolls over and over again. Quote
Valsair Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Spring just won the drumline/front ensemble award at the Lonestar Preview contest at Conroe. I'd say they're doing fine. Quote
Tx_Band_Marcher08 Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Yeah, Dickinson's drumline is pretty bad a$$ this year. Way better since last year and the year before. Quote
king_kool360 Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 at Plano's Clark Stadium, our (Sherman's) drumline placed 3rd on Sept. 29th. first went to Argyle and second to McKinney. here's the results: http://www.planopercussion.org/planopercsi...pdlcresults.pdf Quote
QuadraticBeats Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 We're not going to Lone Star this year... which pisses all of us off, as we have made that a tradition in our short existence so far. But we ARE going to the BOA Percussion Symposium (I believe that's what it is called) at Indianapolis as one of three performing ensembles in March. Well, some of us are, anyways. Quote
SHS_Snare_Ben Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 yea our drumline got 3rd overall at crowley and best base line b/c our pit was sloppy with the 4th mvmnt!! but our d-line did suprisingly well so......so is anyone here going to Lone Star on Nov 10th hey man, its a whole LINE, not seperate sections_so your line didnt pull it off-but congrats on the high ranking still we went, we were in 5A, we took first in drumline overall, how did you rank that night? we went, and i saw some good drumlines there that day-- congrats to brazoswood on a great season- hendrickson high had a good run too- Quote
