marcomac29 Posted September 26, 2007 Author Posted September 26, 2007 WELL AT LEAST YOU GUYS DIDN'T LEAVE A BAND OUT! i totally forgot to put Georgetown in there... woops... I even gave them the outstanding percussion award... how does that work? haha Quote
Vegiphobe Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 All I can say is that I can't wait for TOC. I think a lot of people will be suprised when they see us. This is one of the coolest shows I've seen. Kinda reminds of a Reagan type show. It'll be fun to see. Quote

While Reagan is known for their original concepts, this one is in a class of its own. And the guard is awesome. :] Just thought I'd add a bit. Quote
radchad Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007
whats wrong with sachse? oh and i screwed up my predictions...i thought it said coppell not carroll.... number won!
Aww shut up. HAHAHA. Making fun of my mistakes. SHAME ON YOU. :] I messed mine up to. My comp did one of those freezy things.. and I clicked sumbit. It came out with Mansfield in second instead of first. I didn't even want Plano in there. Quote
SerialSleeper90 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 i forgot to replace grapevine in when I was switching around... Quote
Vegiphobe Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 What do you mean it's nothing like Reagan o.o... ? (JW) The ending is incredibably similar with the band exiting the field with a lone soloist standing. (It's freakin sweet!) Plus with all the crazy drill such as a density study like stuff. Both use unique drill that is a bit outside the box. Even the type of music styles are very similar. Re-watch 05' Reagan and our show this year and tell me they're not at all similar, heh. (Which is my favorite show). Although our show this year has totally different ideas and music behind it, it's still in alotta ways very similar Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 OMG, i didn't know any of the bands, so I picked a random school (colony) for first, carrol for 2nd, and then alpha order after that..... (for the predictions) Quote

You're in the band. Yes, Reagan did have a lone soloist left on the feild. That doesn't mean it's similar. I have watched '05 Reagan many times and there are DYNAMIC differences in the show.. both musically and visually. It's Mansfield. Unique. Nothing like anyone has done. This is the kind of spirit you need, bro. Quote

SerialSleeper90 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 You know we played sachse... ...and I couldn't tell you a thing about their show. lol. Quote
borchnork Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I remember it. and yah, it was about airplanes and flight. Their drill seemed to keep them like... infront of the front hash mark the entire time. Quote

borchnork Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I don't think it was intended as a bad thing. We were in a really big rush that half time, and our directors had us standing so that it was hard to look at the play back screens because we weren't really focused enough on our performance. Quote
SerialSleeper90 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 OH sorry for not making it clear. It's neither. It was at Pizza Hut Park (kind of famous stadium) and we were like way far away from the field and stuff. Nothing against sachse. I put them up for 3rd after all in predictions. lol. Quote
borchnork Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 yah, Sachse always pulls things together in the end. Quote
borchnork Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 has anybody heard anything on Plano West? The plano bands always remain a mystery to me... Quote
PlayOboe Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 borchnork said: has anybody heard anything on Plano West? The plano bands always remain a mystery to me... Plano West is typically the weakest of the three Plano schools. Plano East is awesome and Plano is usually pretty good. I'm not predicting West to make finals here, but who knows. Quote
the terminator Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 You know it's kind of funny b/c supposedly west has the smartest kids and they degrade moving east, but in band it's the opposite. Probably b/c so many people do orchestra instead Quote

Quote
radchad Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 There have been airplane shows done before. Colleyville or someone did one a few years back. It was boring. D: I haven't seen Sachse yet, though. A Drum Corp did an airplane show in '05. It had to do with Geometry and its role in aerodynamics. It was good. Just rambling. xD Quote
Xenon Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 That was the Seattle Cascades with their show, "Airborne Symphony". Quote

marcomac29 Posted October 1, 2007 Author Posted October 1, 2007 Is there gonna' be a review or something from this contest? Quote
Xenon Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I won't be going to TOC this year, so no review on it from me. Quote
