longhornsax Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Just looking through the bands listed for the predictions and wow there's a lot of talent in the field. Really hard to pick a top 10 with all the great bands going. Looking forward to it... Quote
QuadraticBeats Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I'm going to be selfish here and hope that all three LISD bands make finals. That would be pretty cool, methinks. Quote
BassoonPadwan Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 WOOO~! Can't wait for this competition! Quote
JBone Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 1-Bowie 2-Georgetown 3-Cedar Park 4-Akins ... 9-Westwood 10-Connally Thats all I can remember. Quote
Dynasty Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 10. Connally 87.52 9. Westwood 87.6225 8. Dripping Springs 88.8475 7. Leander 88.65 6. James E Taylor 91.235 5. Round Rock 92.231 4. Akins 92.4 3. Cedar Park 93.58 2. Georgetown 94.44 1. Bowie 94.575 Quote
JBone Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Crazy competition. Cedar Park goes into finals in first, Bowie 2 points behind and Georgetown barely trailing them, then Cedar Park drops 2 places in finals. Quote
whitewing09 Posted October 14, 2007 Author Posted October 14, 2007 well from what i saw, Georgetown did SIGNIFICANTLY better in finals then prelims i mean i was like woah! (maybe i was too tired to know) and Cedar Park did look dirtier in finals Quote
urkadrums Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 our band (georgetown) overall did do better in finals than in prelims. we were ecstatic to recieve 2nd, beating cedar park and only losing to bowie by .135pts. our band is actually doing considerably better than they have in the past couple years. im suprised and very proud. still havent seen any marching band show besides from the side of the field at football games. maybe maybe i'll finally get to see one at UIL next week. takigan Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 G-town won The Guard Caption (first time ever I believe)...that was the only caption they won... ...didn't get the drumline caption though....which isn't too surprising because CP, Bowie and RR all have awesome lines....I'm sure one of them got it. bonepit06-07 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 i dont care that connally finished 10th we deserved only that maybe it will be a wake up call man i miss class of 07 Quote
BassoonPadwan Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Quote i dont care that connally finished 10th we deserved only that maybe it will be a wake up call man i miss class of 07 Hey I feel ya on that one! I totally know where you are coming from. And I'm assuming you're still in band. Our class of 07 was phenomenal! I quickly realized though that that line of thinking was doing me NO GOOD! I don't know about you, but I don't want to rely on other people my whole life. And I quickly realized, that we ALL achieved what we had achieved. Not just class of 07. I had to step up. And maybe it was a little later than I would have liked, but better late than never. If you're feeling like their could be better leadership, then that thought came to you for a reason. That leadership must be YOU. Class of 07 stepped up and got it done. It's time for you to do the same. This is something that I am going through as well. I hope that you can find your way. Good luck and have fun! =) Hey great job everyone at Westlake! I'm so happy that I was able to see quite a few bands! Great job to Bowie! I saw both their prelims and finals performance, and they sure deserved to win! Their were moments where I was totally captivated by what they were doing. Awesome guys! Quote
Nancy08 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Congrats to the top three. That was quite a competition. Our placement was kinda a disappointment, but I'm not suprised. We lack those "blow you away" moments that most of the other bands have. Partially that's due to 46% of our band being freshman, but once they get more comfortable with the end of the show, we'll be able to pull out some better results. Quote

borchnork Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 wow, Conally's placement is shocking to me. I know that some of the kids from the school have been saying they don't expect to make state, and I was kinda ignoring it for a while, but after that... scary. Quote
longhornsax Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 vista ridge's Westlake curse continues...3rd straight year of 11th place. As our director described it before saying what place we got "it's like kissing your sister"...Definitely a better year for us, but seems to be a better year for everyone else too. Quote
