Only band i was able to watch was Akins, but man was i impressed. Some very difficult music performed at a very high level. Curious to why you guys were AAA?

Really looking forward to seeing most of these bands at Westlake next week. Really hoping that we can actually be part of finals this year after missing it by 1 or 2 spots the last couple of years.

yeah this was a different experience for us (georgetown)

since we were considered 3A for the first time.

(we were moved down a classification because the competition classified bands according to number of winds, rather than size of school.

we have 96 winds, although we are a 5A school, but we were put in 3A for this competition)

so not competing against roundrock was odd.

but we will be in 4A/5A whatever it is, next week at westlake.

we got 4th,

and apparently the reason is that our drill book is kind of screwed up at the end of the show.

because we got 3rd in music, but didnt do so well in visual.

so we are doing new drill this week to fix those problems.

but im in pit, so that doesnt pertain to me.

but man we were hyped to get best percussion :]

Ah, this looks familiar....oh wait, that's pretty much the Georgetown way to march since year 1; own the percussion, place high in music and suck it up with the visual.

I think the most surprising part of the evening was RR not winning a percussion award because they usually do, but i didn't see their performance so idk

Yeah, turns out our Drumline had a bad run that day.

Like Tenors messed up on their solo as an example...

Hopefully they can improve..plus they just learned their music for the last movement the week of..

to be honest in RR's show i think the voices ruin it. Also the fact that their show is like 80% synthesizer. In Hendrickson's show the Shakespeare verses from Romeo and Juliet really enhance the show. I enjoyed watching it. The McNeil percussion was pretty much to tears when we found out we had beaten RR. So Congrats to Hendrickson!

dude when we found out that R.R. didnt get 1st or even 2nd in their division.

(stupid numbers put us in 3A)

and that we got 1st for the whole day, that was sweet.

havent seen RR's show, so not sure whats up with drums.

but wow, if hendrickson and mcneil beat RR, thats crazy.
