Xenon Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 OK, here we go; First review of the season! Ah, the first competition of the season! I had a good time baking out in the sun and getting my farmer's tan back. This competition is a good preview of what is to come in the 4A Area B competition and we get our first taste of the final installment of LD Bell's trilogy that started with Ascension. Danpod Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Great review! I should have gone with you! Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 fantastic review. i was there and it pretty much covered everything exactly how it was(as close as one can get to understanding it anyways without bein there themselves) Quote
borchnork Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 of course w/ 2 pages of notes, where can you go wrong. hahaha. but honestly I agreed with almost everything. The technical speaker issues that one of the bands had was sad. I felt really bad for that flute player. Quote
Xenon Posted October 1, 2007 Author Posted October 1, 2007 I'm pretty sure that was Juan Seguin. It was the exact same problem in both Prelims and Finals. Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 i felt sorry for them too, but, on the bright side, i thought it sounded pretty kool Quote
queso2992 Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Thanks for the compliments! I am one of the horn players with those great runs. We are still working on those...You didn't mention anything about how good they were but we learned the last 6 sets or so with 10 minutes left in practice on the Thursday before the contest! Eeks!
