Quote
Skippy Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 yesterday we started running 2 laps around the parking lot... about 0.6 miles. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 We just started stretching this year... most people dont do it, we just go through the motions. Nope we dont run.... yet. Quote
the_DRUM_MAJOR Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 yea ive been yrlling with my gut now, it works much better. The commands we give are band left turn, right turn, mark time mark, and mark time hut and horns up, horns down. but id like to try and not do a vocal count off when we start the show this year... Quote
Xukaniz Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Today for our workout, we ran .5 miles, did 15 timed pushups, 70 jumping jacks, and the thing where your legs up while you are laying on the ground, I dont know the name. It was pretty painful Quote
Skippy Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 I hate leg lifts, even though it's a massive abdomen workout. Quote

I hope you're right, because the pain I feel as a rookie drummer is indescribable. OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW! My shins hurt, my calves hurt, my back hurts, and my perc director has just about killed all of my pride for making it in the line. I need a massage! Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 I wish our band camp was like that... we'd be more dicipined. Our trumpets are great this year... were also realy loud. We can make the clarinets infront of us cry. Quote

My two-pack (aka my worthless attempt at abs), shoulders, and sternum are pale white and the rest is almost blood-red! And to think I don't even feel bad... Quote
RMyers Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Give me 20 min. and we can have some FUN!!! Leg lifts, 15 push ups and 2 laps... Tell you what, Do a search for "FM 21-20" it's the Army PT book. That's got a lot of fun and exciting ways to make your body feel sore. And ways to stretch. http://www.armyrotc.vt.edu/PT/APFTmanual.htm And to think, I'm on leave this week... with plenty of time to kill. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 We dont get sunburnt and Band camp cause we practice marching INSIDE half the time... yea. Our bands so small we can actually practice marchng inside... Quote
arundo Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Depending on how you look at it...it could be a good thing. Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Not really. I hate doing it indoors because when the A/C is on, you're breathing in cold air, which hurts to breathe. Quote

I play trumpet... and I always threaten the trumpets that I will go get them a mellophone AND some tenors to wear. Ha, I'd like to see that actually happen. Wow what a threat! lol But I like it. Our band does something kinda like that at the end of the season called "instrument appreciation day." So the pics get to hold euphs or something and vise versa. It's great to watch some of them suffer because they're not used to holding up a big instrument like that. But at the end of the day you really appreciate your instrument or you really don't. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Band Camp was fun today. During our lunch break me and some other band pple walked to the elementary play ground and just played. lol. It brought back *memories*. It fun tryin to squeeze into the slide thats way to small for you. lol. We ended up getting cought up in the moment so we were 10 minuts late for band...lol. Quote

TX Suh-nare Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 One thing's for sure-I am NOT marching the baritones! I have little to no arm strength! I'll stick with my drum, thank you (And for that matter, I'll keep awy from the tenors, too!) Quote
TRtrumpet Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 lol. I wouldent dare try to march the baritone either. Quote
arundo Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 If you can march baritone, you can do anything in the world! haha lol jk but seriously, no way would I march a baritone. Quote
