rdzsaxplaya Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Put my predictions up kinda messed up thoe lol i put lakeview Cent. instead of Frisco Cent, meant to put Frisco on 4th spot and Marching Caption just clarifying Quote
the terminator Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 We at Wakeland will be working extremely hard to make sure we can make finals, still the concern is eligibility Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 After having not competed with or been to any competitions where the majority of the bands were 3a or lower in the past 2 years, i had trouble with the last 5 spots of this comp.'s predictions Quote
borchnork Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 he's another Frisco Centennial kid. Thanks for placing us so highly. I surprised people aren't placing Canton first... although I didn't either, I expected to be the only one who had them 2nd. Quote

To tell you the truth, i have never really heard of Canton, maybe its just me lol Quote
borchnork Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 we saw them at Plano East freshman year. it's a little town out near Tyler. I think it's by a prison though... Quote
the terminator Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 by a prison, I wonder are there any convicts in their band Quote
borchnork Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 scary. I hate how half the kids at our school are on probation. No band kids are though. we're good people Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Well, i have heard that some of the other schools around here refer to us as "the pharmacy." fortunately thats outside the band Quote
SerialSleeper90 Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 ... so I had this weird mindset where I couldn't see lewisville doing anything but a farm thing because the ONE year I see them they do a farm theme. I'm definitely sure "the Escape" will have nothing to do with a farm... unless... oh dear nvm. Quote
borchnork Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 haha, a bunch of chickens trying to escape from the hen house? that'd be really fun to see. Quote
rdzsaxplaya Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 I actually saw lewisville already, they were our first game, but i don't think they performed their show. I remember them doing this Blues Brothers thing.... Must have been like a spirit show or something... Quote
borchnork Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 that's probably the case. I'm interested to see what Canton is doing. And I'm also excited to Robert E. Lee again. I loved their super hero themed show. Quote

borchnork Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 cool. I love westside story. I think they'll pull it off wonderfully. Quote
rdzsaxplaya Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Man I'm so hyped up for Saturday now...cant wait! Quote
Jeff Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 okay...first off i just want to say congratulations to ranchview at frisco march of champions, and i also want to say that there is no major reason to be skeptical of wakeland, seeing as this year they seemed to have pulled everything together in comparison to last years show. I personally think that they have a great shot at getting one of those finals slots at little elm's competition. I'm sorry if you think otherwise, but there are some really strong 3A groups out there that can contend seriously with 4A and 5A's. Canton and Wills point are perfect exaples...I'm not comparing wakeland to either one of them, i'm merely stating that you can't completely rule them out as true competition... Quote

That's their own personal opinion. I think they'll do very well. I'm curious to see how the place against Liberty though. Quote
the terminator Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Amazing if the few people who make up their incompletes and that one person can get a waiver we could be FULLY ELIGIBLE Quote
borchnork Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 WE DON"T HAVE ANY HOLES THIS TIME AROUND! well we probably will, because of people freaking missing practices... but outside of that, nobody who failed! Quote
rdzsaxplaya Posted October 11, 2007 Author Posted October 11, 2007 Yeah, we had a few ineligibiltys I cant remember if Wakeland was that real small band that was REALLY clean...if it is they were good Oh and i asked my director about Canton being in our class, he said that they were.... Man oh man Quote
rsb3 Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 borchnork said: oh, well, it just makes it easier for us to get division champs. hahaha. I'm nervous to see canton again. We haven't competed against them since my freshman year, and we got destroyed by them back then. Get ready, because it could very well happen again. Will's Point is also awesome. They had a beautiful show last year, the drill was great, but the sound was just spot on. Their color guard also adds some great visuals to their shows. ddmwingz said: Canton is an extremely good band. I saw them last year. They are one of the frontrunners in this competition if you ask me Definitely. Last year they were scoring higher than some major 5A and 4A bands at pre-UIL contests. I expect the same again this year. rdzsaxplaya said: I'm not sure if this is the right Canton but if it is there doing a West Side Story based show Not the greatest video but its something. This isn't the right Canton HS I don't think. That sounds like the Arranger's Publishing Co. West Side Story show... and the sound from that band is way too bad for it to be Canton (even if it IS outside). So get ready ladies and gentlemen, the 3A powerhouses are coming to town! Quote
