can you just soak reeds in a cup of orange soda? similar to the oboe reed soaking stand cup thing, we could soak clarinet reeds in soda for some zing to your sound...

How does that work? what kind of soda, and how does it change the sound? *I'm a trumpet player, but this is kinda odd... yet interesting*

I hate, despise, and detest the blue box. I just hate them because you can hardly ever find a reed that works, isn't too buzzy, or isn't too soft.

I love Rue Lepics. I wish I could have them, but they're more expensive and I can't find a place to buy them in person,so I have to buy them online, which I hate. I use the "silver box" (V12s, I think) because I can't use Rue Lepics and they're better than the blue box, in my opinion

haha, i was kidding about the soaking in orange soda. Oboes have these cups of water, that attach to stands, to soak reeds in for quick changing out just in case, or between songs, etc. Since we were on the subject of flavored reeds......

no, soaking a clarinet reed in orange soda does not put a zing in your sound and should not be tested out, as the sugar would all go into your instrument and possibly damage it somehow.

Brevity is the soul of wit.
