Donezo Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Seeing Paul Crider on that list reminds me of state finals in '99..........the infamous 4 way tie for 4th. Please God not again. Quote
borchnork Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 YAY! I love L.D. Bell's director! I met him at the HEB marching contest back in October. No matter how critical he is of us, his words will mean a lot to me. Quote
titancoaster Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 for prelims I know that, Hendrickson preforms 7th, and Connally preforms 19th, please place your position if you know it. Quote
Danpod Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I would like those of you who will be buying tickets for the UIL State Marching Contest to consider the following. This is what buying these tickets on Ticketmaster.com will cost you: Tickets (U.I.L. State Marching Band Contest - AAAA Tuesday Day Pass) Adult Day Pass - $20.00 x 1 Total Convenience Charge(s) - $6.10 Order Processing Charge(s) - $3.75 Will Call No Charge TOTAL CHARGES - $29.85 Here's the catch. The event is General Admission! You can't buy a specific seat for the UIL State Marching Contest, therefore purchasing these tickets on Ticketmaster.com is POINTLESS!!!!!! Yet, Ticketmaster still feels that you should pay an additional 50% when you can just buy them at the box office for 20 bucks with no up-charge. Screw you, Ticketmaster!!!!!! Quote
dtxtrmpt Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 LCM is 1st, Friendswood is 13th, and Dickinson is 16th. At least thats what we were told yesterday. Quote
Tx_Band_Marcher08 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I kinda feel sorry for LCM performing 1st. I wouldn't want to. Quote

Early morning performances suck, but it's definitely not the end of the World. Haltom performed first at State 2004 and still ended up making Finals. Anything is possible! Quote
dtxtrmpt Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 on the state prediction, dickinson and friendswood are on the same line, please fix it!!! Quote

The birds in the Alamodome really loved the performance of Fowl Play and even decided to add their own chirping soundtrack to the mix. Quote
borchnork Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 hahah, that's awesome. I don't know exactly where we are. We were told that they go by area blocks and that in our area, we drew 3rd. I believe our director said it was about 3/4ths of the way through the day. Quote
Donezo Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Let's not forget that the first two bands to march state prelims in 05 were Friendswood and Poteet, who remained the top 2 all day long. Poteet performs 17th in prelims and I thought J. J. Pearce performed 7th but that seems to conflict with the Hendrickson info. Quote
the ridge emily Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 fossil ridge performs 6th from last so 18th i guess!!! Quote
bonepit06-07 Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 where can we find out the full schedule for State? Quote
Donezo Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I think it will be on the UIL website tomorrow. Quote

Danpod Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I may plan a MeetMe for the 4A State Contest. Just come up and find the Txbands.com Shirts and you'll get some cool prizes. Anyone interested? Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 id be interested. put some faces with the names. meet some ppl. sounds fun Quote
Danpod Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Gracelyd33 said: tempting..hmmmmm.... Ill think about it.. I think that you should sell shirts and things at state though.. Get some good sells. And definetly sell some hoodies.. I wish we could do that but it'd be a whole process trying to get "permission" to sell that stuff. I usually just buy a mess of McDonald's gift cards. Quote
Danpod Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Gracelyd33 said: haha.. just get permission to sell them then... You'd make tons of money.. Just because its at state... Just take my McDonald's gift card or else you'll make Daniel sad, haha Quote
