Donezo Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Ok, the results sheet I have Region 26 doesn't have a classification listed next to Marble Falls. So they are 4A? Keep the corrections coming, everyone. It's pretty clear that my info was not 100% complete. Quote

Three bands from Region 21 have already done that. I don't see that happening with any of the Area B bands, but it is possible, which is why I said Area B will *probably* advance 4 bands. ah...my mistake. lets just hope none of them decide to withdraw. DefunctSim Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong... but I just compared the results to the Area B roster... and apparently Arlington Heights isn't on the list for going onto Area... Therefore there are 19 bands advancing to Area B competition. I just started flipping out, so someone please tell me it's wrong... I have a file I just did some tottering with in paint and I keep coming to the conclusion that there are only 19 advancing with birdville and sherman involved... I could use some help here. Quote
DefunctSim Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Wait... could that be polytechnic? I can't find that on the list of region 7 results either... am I just going crazy? Quote
Fata1 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Poly wasn't on the schedule yesterday to perform. Their band is extremely small so they may have just not done UIL this year. Quote
DefunctSim Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Thanks for that information. But could someone still fill me in on where Arlington Heights fits into that Area B Schedule? I'm still wigging out. Quote
Fata1 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 If I were at home, I would check the little competition pamphlet. I looked through it yesterday and I can't remember if I saw them on the list or not. Quote
Donezo Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Here's the draw order from the region 7 website: http://www.uilforms.com/regions/7/4A%20Dra...0order%2007.htm Arlington Heights is at the bottom of the list. Maybe they registered late for region? Quote
DefunctSim Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 OH THANK GOD!!! I thought we were 1 shy of 20, but we have it. On a previously posted roster they weren't on the list, but if your document is correct, they must have registered late or when they figured out they got a 1 because we (Centennial) were registered as last up until yesterday. I'm willing to sacrifice going last for having 20 people at area . We've been expecting last for a few weeks now, but I guess that goes to Heights... whatev. Happy days have returned. Quote
ClaireAnnette07 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I'll admit, I'm pretty shocked to see that C.E. King and Crosby made a 1..back when I was a freshman (and Channelview was the region 19-4A powerhouse in marching when they were still 4A), they would always get 2's and such...it's amazing how a few years changes, because both bands (especially Crosby..I haven't seen CE King in awhile) have gotten significantly better! I'm surprised not to see Galena Park, especially because they've gotten tons better in the last few years as well. I'm not surprised to see Friendswood and Dickinson again. They advanced to state both years Channelview made it to 4A area, and i wouldn't be surprised if they did it again. Area F usually advances 2 bands to state, and I'm sure it'll be Friendswood and Dickinson again. They're just that good. Quote
Donezo Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 They certainly did. Note to self: Do not try to make comprehensive lists in the wee hours of the morning. Quote
dtxtrmpt Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 how many bands have to make it to area in order to have finals? how many bands do you have to have to advance 3 bands to state? Quote
Fata1 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 dtxtrmpt said: how many bands have to make it to area in order to have finals? how many bands do you have to have to advance 3 bands to state? One band advances per every five bands that make it to area. So you would need at least fifteen bands to advance three to state. I'm not sure about your finals question though. Quote
Donezo Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 15 bands at area = 3 bands at state. I think that is also true for having area finals. Right now it looks like Area F will send three bands to state and hold finals. Quote
dtxtrmpt Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 the only competing bands from region 9 are Caney Creek Huntsville Montgomery Willis anyone seen the shows? any predictions on how they will score? Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 how would we know if a band pulls out from the area competition? Quote
Donezo Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 When the schedules for each area are posted. I only know Hallsville, Nacogdoches, and Whitehouse aren't competing in Area C because they are not on the Area C schedule despite making a "1" at region. It's actually pretty common in Region 21. I really don't think you have anything to worry about in Area B, but we'll find out after Region 5 competes. Quote
borchnork Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I just hafta say that I must congratulate all the region 24 bands for having each one make straight ones! That's AWESOME! Special recognition goes out to Little Elm and Lake Dallas! Little Elm for their first one in 4A and Lake Dallas for the first one in almost 3 or 4 years!! Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 not everyone in region 24 made straight ones. they all made ones...but some had a 1-1-2. Quote

GenericWit Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I was looking at 4A state top ten from two years ago, and I think it's really impressive that three people from our area alone made finals. Birdville, Sherman, and Aledo... man... what good bands. Of course, we've also got the Colony to compete with too... I'd love to make state. I wish I could fast forward to see what's going to happen. I don't think we (Centennial) are out of the running just because we have so many amazing bands in our area. I think it just means we've really gotta push it this week. Then again, isn't that what most other bands are doing too? Either way, it'll be an exciting/nerve racking/frustrating/sad/superhappy! day at area (I hope ours is more happy than sad). Quote
b_all Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 In area D it looks like its very possible to have 5 bands. does anybody know how the other regions did that go to area D? Quote
Donezo Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I just received word that Area G will be sending 4 bands. Quote
jd2012 Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 so now that we have the set number of bands going to area B, do we want to start making predictions again? Or just agree to work our butts off and see what happens... Quote
