They had already beaten six of the finalist bands, two pointed or better all but New Braunfels, at the USSBA competition. They have heard nothing but good things from practically every judge they've performed for this year, and were kept out of area by one judge that didn't like their show. = Shafted *discussion closed* Quote

I think we've all learned that we can't completely take into account previous competitions too much. Also, it's a different scoring system, not to mention about a month prior of this competition. congrats to all who made it through a tough tough area. Quote
floresac Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Oh can I just say I'm SOOOOOO PROUD OF GALENA PARK. After making straight 3's and 4's during the late 90s-2002 yay GP. 8th at Area in 2003 6th at Area in 2005 4th at Area in 2007 I LOVE MY OLD BAND. ONE DAY THEY WILL BE AT STATE. ONE DAY VERY SOON. Comparing the two is like comparing apples and venison. Doesn't sound like shafting was involved. I'm sorry your band didn't make it to Area Finals. Quote

Lynn Jones Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Look out San Antonio, the dawgs are on thier way back to the Dome ! By the way, the Area C competition was held in Lufkin yesterday, Queen City High School took first place in the preliminaries, and then first place in the finals. Quote
jd2012 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 even though boyd didn't make it in area B i'm so proud for getting that far considering the number of freshmen we had and the tough area. good luck to all that made it! Quote

I have a question for you. I noticed that you guys got dressed into your uniforms and pulled your instruments out for the prelims announcement... any particular reason why? I kinda just stood there a little on the confused side. oh yah. and good job!! hah, sorry almost left that out. Quote
Fata1 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Well, I'm very happy with the results. Congrats to all of the bands that made it and thanks, Centennial, for making my weekend. Quote
ddmwingz Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 your welcome and thanks for the support Quote
ClaireAnnette07 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I'm really proud of Galena Park too...I saw them last year when my old high school played GP, and they were pretty amazing. You can tell they are all really dedicated to the band program. I think they're the State alternate this year too, which is AWESOME. Good job to everyone who made state! Quote

Well, it's nice to know that you thought about me anyway. I was at a friend's party last night and I was tempted to get on his computer to check the site for results but decided to wait it out and make myself endure the suspense. The second I got home, I dashed to the computer and was so glad that you all made it. Quote

Currently we have the title of the first Frisco band to make Honor Band finals and to go to the State marching competition. what else is in store? who knows... Quote
the terminator Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 that's our goal this year, Mr. Miller has a whole ton of stuff that he wants us to get into for honor band this year. last year one of our judges said we were they best recording of Havendance that he's ever heard Quote
borchnork Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Have fun going up against Canton for that one! I remember at Little Elm walking by their band truck and how it basically said they were 3A State Champs/Honor Band since... well basically the beginning of time. haha. But with the way you guys did at Little Elm, I think you're in great shape to get up there as well. Quote

If so, I must have missed it Quote
