I know they arent goin anywhere, i didnt intend it to argue a falling out, kinda came across that way.... I just ment it to say they'll be at least top three next two years (prob top two this year), they'll deffinantly come back within the next three of four years and take first.

I was extremely disappointed with this past show. Im usually not a big Phantom fan. I believe they get a lot of credit to their brass line for having such a non-blended, un matched, edgy sound. But If I ranked the shows on an entertainment level, I would have put the cavaliers only a step ahead of the blue knights, and way behind even phantom. But then again phantom shows are very entertaining. Just, badly scored. But they're visual program is always ridiculous. They won't be out of the top 5 For a long, long, long, long time.

Are you serious? Phantom hasn't really had a "ridiculous" visual program until recent years, if you even want to call it that...and music...I'll just stay quiet on that one...

I don't disagree with the statements about the Cavies from this past year, it was more so about phantom...

But everyone has their own favorites, right?

Well, you are misinterpreting what I wrote. w/e.

bottomline:

Cavies visualy = holy poop...!

Phantom music = sounds like poop

*btw, neither are my favorite.

Consider this:

The Cavaliers might have placed third, but this in no way means they're out. They're still a visually strong corps with a lot of competitive inertia behind them.

I don't think it's going to be a matter of them getting worse and 'falling' but a matter of other corps hungry for it 'figuring it out' and rising to the challenge. Bluecoats, Crown, The Academy, along with Championship-winning corps such as The Cadets, Vanguard, and even Phantom, are going to make the fight for the top spots more competitive and not the same-name stuff we've seen for the past few years.

Just look to 2007 as an example: the Bluecoats came in 7th with their highest Finals score to date and decently small difference in score from 3rd to 7th place. If the trend continues, people aren't going to 'fall' from getting worse, just get nudged out because of the level of skill.

Just my two cents.

Agreed with the point. But just to clarify....2005 was the Bluecoats' best year score wise.

So as a snare rookie at troop do you usually get a lot of intel about the cavies brass line? lol. I think DCI is going to be great this year. Everyone has been stepping up, and it's going to be interesting to see how the corps world folds out.

haha, guess you got me there. It just seems awkward to me to have too many people bail on a corps like that. That's the top goal for so many guys, why would they leave?

It's all good. Just trying to make a point and stay out of trouble at the same time.

Well, what are you comparing it to? I mean no offense, but any person who goes and tries out for a top 7 corps is probably going to think that...
