randomizzer Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Area E Sorry I do not have all the results, only got a glance at the scoring. The results were unprecedented, from what I heard the State had to be contacted, took 45+ minutes to do the scores. Advancing to State Brenham with a score of 11 Foster with a score of 13 Seven Lakes with a score of 13 Waller with a score of ?? (13 I would guess) That's right 4 of 6 bands qualifying for state. Really bizarre Quote
rsb3 Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Anyone know the Area A results? I haven't been able to find these anywhere... the schedule online says that finals begin @ 6:30, so I know the finals line-up has been announced! Quote
aaron067 Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Area C 4A Finalists: Forney Lindale Midlothian North Lamar J.J. Pearce Poteet Rockwall Heath Biggest surprise to me was that Waxahachie, who usually advances to State, didn't advance to finals. Rockwall Heath has an incredibly demanding visual program and performed well all around. Midlothian was the cleanest I've ever seen them, and Lindale (who marched and played very well) seem as though they could be in the middle of a transition from military-style to corps-style. I didn't get a chance to see Poteet or Pearce, but I imagine they will both put forth strong performances. The bad news: only 2 bands advance from Area C this year due to some DNAs. Quote
Tx_Band_Marcher08 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Dickinson, Friendswood, and LCM advancing to state from Area F Quote

All that matters is the band is going to state! Quote

Donezo Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Area C: Poteet J. J. Pearce Alternate: Lindale I should know more pretty soon. Poteet swept it in finals and Pearce had one first in prelims. I saw Waxahachie in prelims and I am SHOCKED they didn't make finals. Quote

Hawkeye Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 In no particular order, information based on what I was able to find, but it checks out with another list. Alternate information was only posted in a few areas so far. Results for 2A and 1A should be coming soon. Donezo Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I think they're probably more excited about advancing to state marching contest for the first time in 10+ years than about getting one first place vote in area prelims. Go Pearce!!!! I'm incredibly happy to see them doing well again. Quote

RcAaLvPiHeIsE Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 So here's how it went down in Area A Azle and Saginaw tied for first RP 16 16 Boswell RP 20 Fossil Ridge RP 24 Azle - 1 2 4 7 2 = 16 Saginaw - 5 6 1 1 3 = 16 Boswell - 2 5 7 2 4 = 20 Ridge - 10 8 2 3 1 = 24 Springtown - 3 4 3 9 5 = 24 Fossil Ridge tied Springtown and won by judges preference..... Looks like Ridge barley squeaked in over Springtown Quote
kks_x Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Eek. Man, the competition between Hendrickson and Connally is going to be fierce. We (CHS) placed first in prelims, and HHS was second. In finals HHS was first and CHS was second. geez. tough competition, that's for sure. :] Quote

Good to see that the addition of a new region didn't change much in the area. Still the same bands on top. Conally's still the same old Conally Congratz Hendrickson, Conally, and Dripping Springs. See you at state! Quote

I feel them. Quote

borchnork Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 YAY FOR CONNALLY! I knew they could do it. =] Quote
eddy725 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Hendrickson got 1+1+1+2+3=8 so we did pretty good at finals Quote
titancoaster Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Our prelim preformance was really good yesturday, unfortuantly our finals preformance was just a little bit worse, and when you add in the fact we went second to last in prelims and first in finals, it was amazing for us to make second, our scores were: 2+5+2+1+1=11 Quote
borchnork Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I can't recall exactly what it was, but ours were something like... 1+2+1+4+10= 18 (pre lims) and I'm clueless as to our finals score. but that judge that gave us 10th was on crack. 4th place is understandable, but a score that was 6 spots away from our lowest placement... that doesn't seem right.
