Crown's brass scores baffles me. They are so good.

They definitely had one of the best hornlines last year. No doubt about that. They have a very unique sound that is very refreshing. I think their problems in the hornline last season stemmed from balance issues. The sopranos tended to overblow during some sections. The cool thing about the corps is that they seem to really analyze their weaknesses in scoring and try to improve on them each season.

How can you know if the corps you were in was one of the loudest? You have to see it from the same perspective as the other ones.

I saw them all from the same seat in Semifinals. About 20 rows up on the 50

Speaking of Star rehearsal technique, here's a quote off of the Star 1993 DVD from a percussion instructor, shortly after rehearsal:

"The key, from here on in, is you gotta feel good about what you're doing. You have got to feel good about it because your hands are superior. Your hands are superior. There's no question about that."

It gives me chills each time I watch it.

You didn't march semifinals?

I did. By the time I was done though I was in the stands watching other corps. When news came out that we werent in finals we just went to the stands and watched the rest of the corps. I believe i got back just in time for Blue Coats.

I also saw them in finals, but basically from the endzone. I could barely hear phantom playing from way over there...

Oh ok. You just said that Blue Stars was louder than Phantom, and since you were in the Blue Stars, I didn't know how you would know that without being able to observe both from the same vantage point.

Ah, that was a show a few weeks before finals. I had a nasty bug and I couldn't make it through a show without throwing up.

ah, dude, that sucks. I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to watch a performing group of mine from the outside. Not band or corps or anything. I don't really get sick or break any bones or anything.

I got to, the thought of doing it is over rated... I thought.

Yeah as much as it sucked It was kind of cool I guess. I got to see a lot of things I'd never seen in our show before.

But I would've rather been marching any day of the week
