But, who's excited for the Centennial contest saturday?! It really just depends on what my jobs are going to be for my shifts. If I end up with concessions (which I'll complain about since SLs and DMs are supposed to have the most responsibility-filled jobs), I won't be diggin' it. If I get field monitor or judge runner or band guide, I'll be diggin' it. I'd love to be on the field for the third shift cuz that's when all the 5As perform.... Oh but you probably mean excited to compete... well... we're not competing so... sort of. Haha. Btw... for everyone that didn't know. One of our judges will be states finals judge so impress! Quote
SerialSleeper90 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 How does working at concessions require the most responsibility? Do you want fish handling and telling where the bands need to go? I didn't think so. Quote
king_kool360 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Quote I like our drill writer he is nice..and quite frankly, creative. I like his creativity as well. Quote A lot of my "underclassmen apology" was to fix the damage you did.To try to salvage the reputation of Sherman that you so easily soiled. And to think you want your spot back... Let it go. I'm ignoring everyone's comments about all of this, really. It doesn't phase me a bit. I've apologized for it, I did feel remorse. Few people are even mentioning it, let alone showing they care it ever happened. Quote
king_kool360 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. What I should have said was "I'm not letting people's comments affect me." I don't know what anyone thinks of me so far except that Gaskill, Drew, and Matt (section leader) are not mad at me, and I can reason that the others don't. Now, as for my mother, I don't know what she said to Mr. Jenkins, but rest assured that I did not say anything to her that influenced whatever it was she did. Quote
king_kool360 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I thank you for not hating me. I enjoy... not being hated (seems confusing- ANYWAYS). Why do you pity me? I don't need pity, I haven't been more content with myself since... well, since a couple weeks before Morgan broke up with me. Quote
freeze Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I hate to intervene in this touching convorsation, but this is a txbands forum, right?? Quote

I've just always been in love with SCV ever since I first saw their 04 Show Scheherazade. God, that was beautiful - and don't even get me started on Adagio for Strings. It just seems that every years show makes me fall more in love with what they do and what concepts they take on. A couple of my friends on the battery at our school wanted to tryout for Blue Knights because 2 out of our 3 previous percussion directors were Blue Knight alumni, and they were so stoked - but apparently there is a new rule that if you can't attend all of the first week of their summer camps then you cannot be in the corps. Our school gets out after the first week in June so that just completely eliminates any chances of them being in BK. Good thing there is such a variety of corps, eh? I have the SAME PROBLEM w/alldays moveins.. my school don't get out 'till like June 6th. Yet another reason why I am not marching. You should tell your percussion friends to march an open corps somewhere. Just b/c there name isn't listed under the World Corps, doesn't mean the corps isn't good. Just the mere fact that you marched somewhere before is a GOLDEN TICKET into a world corps. You go to Sherman? Liked your show. You lucky dogs have this huge 16 wheeler haha Quote

king_kool360 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Thanks there, freeze. P.S. Is there a story behind the name? Quote
freeze Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 actually yeah haha.. At the drum corps I marched in the summer of 07, we had this mellophone-tech. He thought I looked like one of his friends named who was name Mark Friese (Freeze) and so he just started calling me freeze and every one in the corps picked up on it. It got to the point where people didn't even know me by my real name . I'll hear the word 'freeze' at random parts in the day now and think someone's calling my name.. It's funny. Quote
king_kool360 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 lol.... it's like Viktor Friese... except not famous... but real. Quote

I would love you with all of my heart Have you tried google video? I just recently posted a couple of videos I recorded from Saturday on youtube. I uploaded Sherman, Carter-Riverside, The Colony, Frisco and Aledo. Sorry for the low camera angle. I was working my shift that morning. All of the recordings are from prelims except Aledo's because my sister recorded that one for me. (also Aledo's camera angle is higher than the others.) Enjoy! Quote
Ern3sto09 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 haha Uh oh... I mean dudette I guess.. Please don't give me laps Mr. Drum Major Quote

I hope that if I make SCV that they are understandable with my school schedule. But if not - then all I can do is hope for the best next year, right? But yeah, I'm the Sherman Low Brass SL for the 2nd year. When we got the 16 wheeler it was like a dream come true haha. But with all these new things we've gotten this year it's becoming hard to fit everything on there, so for state we got another 28' trailer to sport, which should solve all of our space problems. What band do you march in? Quote
